ShiningBeam Blaze $30

I guess I know what purchase Iā€™m making on thursday, then.

I guess I know what purchase Iā€™m making on thursday, then.

I hate dents and scratchesā€¦lol

F U ALL !!!
Phones are hard to type no

Now I examined the Blaze expecting damage. No flaws whatsoever, exactly as my others.

Took apart and found the ā€œflawā€. The battery spring in the head was leaning, enough to notice but nothing I havenā€™t seen in other budget lights. Operates as expected.

So a spring tilted reduces price by 50%.

Damned this forum!

Third deal posted here in two weeks I just couldnĀ“t resistā€¦ I know, IĀ“m weakā€¦

ordered.

Just ordered one as well. I wish it was P60 drop in compat but it is no big deal.

Can someone explain the UI? It says twist head to set modes but there is a clicky. It also has memory. I am buying to mount on my shotgun so I want it to come on in high with momentary forward clicky everytime. Can it just be set to high by tightening the head?

The way I understand it, the clicky is only for on/off, so a forward clicky is ok for a multi mode light (for me a forward clicky is a dealbreaker for ordinary multi mode lights). Changing modes is done by loosening and tightening the head quickly like you would with a twisty light.
So when you turn it on, you can have the memorized mode in momentary. Even strobe

If that is true, that will just fine. It is IXP-8 waterproof and seems built well enouh to handle the recoil of a 12ga. A 12ga has a lot of recoil but it is a slower recoil not a sharp crack like a rifle so I donā€™t expect any issues. I currently have a Jetbeam BA10 on it with 14500 battery.

The clicky on the Blaze also works with a ā€œsoft pressā€ for momentary on.

Perfect, thatā€™s what I was hoping for. Even at only $30, it is one of the more expensive lights I have bought recently. Itā€™s shocking what you can get for $15 now.

its always a lottery as to quality, etc. but, wow, there are some really good deals out there. it will probably get even better too. dangerous for flashaholics.

I have been buying more lights in the past two months than any time in the past. Is it just me or are there a bunch of great deals right now? Seems like a few months back there wasnā€™t much to write home about and now everyday brings a deal I canā€™t pass up. I am trying not to buy the Uniquefire Z5 for $12 from DD. I just donā€™t need it so I think I can hold off on that one.

ShiningBeam is not like a lottery, you an count on their lights being great quality.

i did not mean to imply that at all with regard to shiningbeam. bryan is beyond reproach in business and customer service. i have purchased from shiningbeam multiple times, would recommend them without the slightest of hesistation, and wish that all businesses were run with such integrity. what i meant was, given the vast amount of sellers with what appear to be identical items, the quality can vary greatly. ebay for example. shiningbeam sells quality items, provides excellent customer service, and although i have never had a problem with anything i purchased there, i have read, and am sure, that bryan would make it right. i certainly hope my post did not imply otherwise.

Thats why I bought it. If there is something wrong, I can send it back since he is in the US and I have heard he has great CS. If it was from a Chinese dealer, I would probably have passed on this one. I am going to use it as a weapon light so if it breaks, I have some chance at a fix since it is from him. When I am just messing around, the Chinese budget lights are great but when I need something for serious use, I try to buy quality. This seems like a deal for $30

Those who bought it, can you make a small beamshots comparison review? :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks in advance

S&%t, Z5 for less than 13? Thatā€™s a steal! :open_mouth:

I just unwrapped mine, and wow am I impressed! Iā€™ve wanted one for quite a while, and was a little put off by the price, when there are lots of great budget lights around.

This is not a budget light. Itā€™s built like a tank, with a quality feeling heft. Good deep reflector, which helps offset the loss of throw due to the medium orange peel. It gives it a nice smooth beam, better than P60 throw with lots of spill. Great low low, and pretty impressive high.

Two tiny pinpricks out of the finish, which I really had to search to see. Both springs appear to be well centered. I thought Iā€™d be tossing it in my pocket with keys, but itā€™s too nice for that kind of treatment.

I really like the momentary on, which does not change modes no matter how you poke at it. Good feature.

I ordered it late Thursday night, and it came in the mail today. Used BLFuser, so it was $30.81.

Get it, or regret it!

Got one. Nice to hear it is as good as I hoped. Canā€™t wait to get mine in the mail.
