Two of these black 980L clones from ebay vikicompany (Buy In Coins was on the package label)
These two are nicer than my first bronze clone.
The bodies are almost identical to the original 980L
Alloy bezels instead of stainless, but I expected that
No springs on drivers unlike another someone got that broke off
Brighter than my bronze clone
Threads lubed, good O rings
Tail-stand ok.
5 Mode, defaults to high
Decent lanyards if you like that sort of thing
Nice feel to the switch
Nicer beams and tighter hotspot too. No bad rings or artefacts. There is a minute dot not as bright in the centre of the beam, you can only see it when you move the light. I doubt it will be visible in use. One in particular has a smaller smaller and brighter hotspot than the other. That one has a tighter beam than my original and it looks to be brighter too. The colour is whiter than my 980L, which has a nice warm tint.
Al in all, I am very happy with these two lights. They are much nicer than the other clone I have and I think they are 95% or more of the original 980L
Forgot to add, they are branded UltraFire T6-13 on the head, similar to the originals marking. The ano is a little more textured and shinier than the original too.
Got my third predator. Silver to complete the set! This was second hand (as new) but the only problem is that this one is cool white. Difficult mod required!
Comparing the R4 neutral, to the R5 cool white, there is a small difference in apparent brightness in favour of the cool, but the difference in tint makes the neutral far more desirable. Im thinking a Nichia mod in in order, but not before beamshots. Will be a big hit to output though, apparently a Q4 equivalent, for 95 CRI
I just got the Tmart (bait and switch) WF980L although the picture clearly shows a UF980L. It’s a different light. The led looks like a second as there is marks all over the dome. Beam is poor. Does not have a stainless switch and has a different body and bezel. Removed the bezel to clean the lens. The o ring fell apart. WTF. Should have known better. My KD C8 is a much better light when compared to this.
This is what I was sent. As it does exist on their site maybe it was a mix up but them I doubt they have the UF-980.
I finally got the elusive black HD-2010 from Lightmalls. This is the first one out of six that has passed across my desk scratch and ding free with a perfect reflector.
Spent a fun afternoon at our buddy Craigs place (Illumination Supply)… kid in a candy store!!
Picked up some DIY goodies and a Energizer RGB anglehead. I am all for hands-free trail lighting, and have been eye-ing this light for a while now.

Best regards,
I got a gray T-mart one also it was scratched also, I traded it for a darker grey one that was supposed to be black sold that one and finally got a good one, it was quite the search.
At least you got to be the 3000th post on “What I got” thread …………………cool
Foy, well it did arrive in less than 2 weeks though, right? :zipper_mouth_face:
I got my order from tmart today and did a little better than EDC, I did get the right light I ordered (a UltraFire G4 MCU)…just not the right batteries. I ordered two blue ultrafire 18650 “2400” mAh batts and got one of the above and one unbranded “2800” mAh 18650 that is dead (well, 1.3 volts) I messaged Louis and Sherry.
With the discount I got on the light from the BLF group buy I still come out ahead even with one dead batt but I am hopeing I can still get another good batt.
It is NOT a UF980L. It also has a damaged led. Best solution for me is to send me a UF 980L or a full refund. Can’t file an rma as it won’t let me attach photo’s
