Review / Comparison: Three colorful AAA budget lights from DD (Bronte RA01, SKILHUNT Ramble-ι (Iota) & Tank007 E09)

Thanks for comparison, very nice!

Thanks for the comparison, I was wondering when the SkillHunt would be out, I’m glad you ran a comparison because by itself it’s nothin fancy but it excels as a backup or coat light

very nice comparison ty
unfortunately prices are unstable at DD…

could you compare the mid of the E09 with the high of the others? mAh are leveled if the e09 is not bright like the others the driver sux to don’t speck about PWM

Thanks _The_. Really good and informative review. Its nice to see comparisons side by side.

Thanks The, great pics and detail review. I think i will find a Ramble for myself very soon

Very nice! Love the comparison review style. Frontpage’d and Sticky’d.

Review was so good that I rushed over to get a Ramble at DD but was disappointed to find it now $16.99. Hopefully it’ll go on sale soon!

DD is known to have jumpy prices. It went to $17.99 after the review and dropped to $16.99 some time after that.

You can still get 10% off with coupon retailmenot10off, bringing the price down to $15.29 (not bad for this kind of light!)

wow very nice review!

Can any of these lights be taken apart (led replacement)
I have personally ruined a Tank007 E09 trying (was glued)

which parts are you talking of were glued? there is no need to tear out the driver pill or driver sandwhich (with the green contact disc). in any case, on the top side there is the LED (LED star) with the 2 soldered wires, as shown in my review. if you want to swap the LED, de-solder the 2 wires off the LED star, exchange the LED star, and use the same wires to re-solder them back on the new LED star. done.

if you have "ruined" the E09 driver itself (somehow), then tant pis. Keep it as reservoir of spare parts. Buy a new E09 from DD (starts from 11.99$ before the triple discounts) and all good ;)

How to disassemble the head? It won’t budge using just my hands. Do I need to apply heat and then pliers?

you talking of E09? why do you want to disassemble the E09 head??

( please check "Disassembly / Troubleshooting." section of my review. :p )

I have a doa e09 that’s why I want to take a look if I can fix it.

I read your review and I didn’t find it. Can you quote exactly how you disassembled the head? What tools did you use?

Thx for the great and informative review!! Even the battery selection was colorful. =o)

Thanks!!
I just noticed that the Tank007 E09 head can be taken apart (stupid me, I thought it was a solid piece just like the ITP A3) Lucky me I have a spare AAA light driver in reserve just for these instances!

Looks like so many people didnt care to read my review.. *sigh*
