HELP! Tmart Sent Me a Totally Different Flashlight. What Do I Do?

Thanks very much JohnnyMac. I know many of you have faced similar experiences but it’s very frustrating and I really appreciate your help.
Regards,
Bob

In addition, contact Sherry Ye also, she is a customer service rep at Tmart.

I hope everything works out fine. Can imagine the anticlimax and frustration. Recieving something not on par with your expectations.

Just a suggestion, KumaBear, but maybe you should change the thread title until you've given them a chance to respond? I know Tmart has had a bad rep in the past, but they seem to have done right by BLF over the last few months. Perhaps give them a chance to correct the issue through CS before calling them out?

Agreed.

I agree. In fact I violated one of my own rules - and that is NOT to send out any emails or make any phone calls when I’m still very upset. I tend to overreact and regret doing so later. It’s OK to write a draft indicating how upset I am but my “rule” dictates that I “sit on it” for a few hours or a day before I lash out.

Thank you guys for suggesting that I edit. I hope I did it correctly.

Regards,
Bob

No harm no foul. I have the same rule at work with emails. It's saved my arse on more than one occasion. :)

They did the same thing to me and I couldn’t file an RMA. I see no problem with the post as it is good to inform potential buyers of this bait and switch incident.

At least they didn't tie it to a string and drag it on the sidewalk for a couple of blocks before shipping. (like they did with my "new" HD2010) It's okay though, it would have looked like this in 2 or 3 years anyway . . . .

@KumaBear:
Can you take a picture of the wrong light and post it here in the thread?

Thanks for posting that photo edc. (I have to get a camera working.) I can’t see the extended silver crown that mine has and I can’t see the very rear end of the flashlight in your photo but what I can see looks pretty much exactly like what they sent me. What is that?
Best Regards,
Bob

Its a wf980. Different crown, tailswitch, body. Its a different light and not as good as a uf980.

Even more reason to “avoid.” I think the rating system is a great idea - assuming one’s smart enough to listen!

Im not going thru the entire thread but im hoping you gave Tmart a fair opportunity to respond? I had a bit
of a problem and Sherry handled the issue in double quick time, very professional.

If the the thread title is indeed accurate shoot me a PM i’ll certainly got to bat for a fellow BLF mate.

Otherwise consider rewording perhaps

Tmart is well known for their bait & switch tactics.

They've done it to me, and they tried really hard to rip me off.

I was lucky, as Paypal saved me at the last minute.

+1 I dont see anything wrong with this thread either, given how many folks over here have had problems with Tmart.
They sent me wrong SK68, it took a while and some uproar from other members who got the wrong light over here to make them do full refunds without too many questions asked.

LOL

I'd rather know about a complaint about a company and more importantly about a bad light someone is selling .

You owe it to us enough to tell the truth about a light no matter who's fault it is ..if it's a junk then let us know to avoid it .

If tmart is worried about it's reputation ...they know what to do.

Please let me clarify…eh hem…

I agree 101% with the post if you feel you gave them an opportunity to make things right and they didnt. And i’ll even go to bat for you and make a stink, cancelo my order. I stand by that now, later, good or bad personal experience. And i have no past experince with Tmart, Racoon my man knows a heck more than i regarding vendors history around these parts… I made a purchase Yesterday and i more or less
made a small mistake and asked Tmart to modify my order. Sherry must have emailed me 5-7 times to confirm and make sure the order was corrected. Putting the issue on blast “before” they have a chance to repspond appropritatly IMHO imay delay the process. If this isnt the case and your getting the cold shoulder i sure would like to know…

Racoon / Foy & Gentleman - Question here is in context, i think. - Many of the vendors we frequent i assume have a decent track records? No fly buy nights im hoping? Before checking prices , registering, etc i check other members posts. If i see a slew of recent negative or just bad feedback/posts, that’s good enough for me. Sometimes i dont see recent activity but i can always search a few months or 1 year prior and it seems like many or most vendors all have a period of dishonest business. Most cases 1 recent negative and i typically keep it moving, on to another vendor. How do you navigate these dark waters on nothing more than a promise to send your goods in return for your USD? Seems like its alwats been hit or miss , keep in mind im relatively new to souring from the far east.
Most important is how do you address a vendor sending you a flashlight that was used by an employees infant son as a rattler? While mom who utilized Foys light as a personal boy toy? Lubed threads were one of the
review pro’s…

Just kidding Foy. Does the battery tube smell like coconut body lotion? btw
Yes, im actually buying one based on that very review. Question is from who?

Boaz-I think we see eye to eye…
Thanks

Update; Tmart don’t have a UF980 so substituted it with a wf980. Make of that what you will. Returning mine via post is not an option so I have accepted a gift card. Would rather had a UF980. Sherry sorted it out for me.
