Shadow JM07 Pro 2.6W 445nm

Interesting.

This laser is Awesome. It runs off 1x 26650 4.2v cell and is a Beast. I hand selected this H1600 445nm diode and is very Efficient. The laser uses a High Quality Glass Aspheric Lens “G1” with a nice Custom Focus Adapter. It has my New Custom Designed Pocket Heatsink to fit this host and module perfect in order to make the fins on the host work correctly and keep the diode cool. I do all the machining myself and Its all a very snug fit. This allows you to have a Longer Duty Cycle of 2 minutes on 1 minute off with the laser being stable. The Driver is my X-Boost V7. The Laser is Very Beefy in your hand and feels very comfortable. It has nice weight to it at 330 grams with the cell in and feels of quality.

Now that is awesome! If only it weren't almost 500 dollars.

And there are almost no guarantees in the hobby. It is not that difficult to burn up the diode/driver if you are just a bit careless.
I lost $200 coz my 1.8W 445nm burned up. Past 1.5W, you really are pushing a regular diode with normal efficiency pretty hard. I now have a more realistic 1.1-1.2W one, survival laser in a C6 host upgraded with copper heat sink. (135 bucks)

I think lazeerer’s diode is a bit special and not the usual ones from the sleds.

Bought this, hope it can throw at least 8km. The fatter beam is the one.

is that the $82 one? how far would it throw?

Not sure how far that would throw……nobody test it seriously….but it did throw the dot 3 miles on a mountain from what i read.

With my ~ 50-75mW 532nm, focusable but its those regular lenses (ie the thin beam below), it can do about 3-4km on a reflective building surface. Fine tune the focus with a pair of binos. For cloud bases, probably about 1km plus up there max….so to be really really visible you would wait for clouds that are somewhat low at maybe 500m to 800m. For your SM5200, you can easily reach clouds that are 400m low and cast a nice satisfying spot that is very easy to detect.

With that built in “beam expander”, you start off with a thick beam, but the divergence is really low so the beam spreads out less over the distance.

445nm have very bad divergence, so even with several watts of power, it would not outthrow a low powered 30mW greenie with a focusing lens ion front. Also due to the eye’s inherent extreme sensitivity to green 532nm. (many many times better)

BTW, i have to put a disclaimer that lasers are a different ballgame altogether and while it does not seem as “bright” as compared to say an Olight M3X, even a reflection of a 445nm 1W blue laser off the glossy floor tiles from 20m away can potentially blind you. They are not toys, not in the way that even your 2 million plus candlepower SM5500 HID is. (that is only dangerous up till about 8 metres relying on your blink reflex).

You would need eye protection (googles) if you are not using outside. And be careful not to hit any aircraft or do anything stupid with it. (cars, people, animals etc). I think PH is still pretty lax…. You can read everything you want to know on LPF.

I got my flashlight. It’s in the 100mW region so the output is cool, bright enough to warranty me to take out the protection glasses for closeup use. (definitely 2X as bright as my SD-301 cheapie, such stuff are in the 50mW region as widely measured via a LPM but rated anywhere from 150mW to 300mW). It really throws.
