3*xml 26650 with the wrong price?

Thanks

The ad states that the light uses 2x18650/26650 batteries yet the picture and the advertised length of 177mm suggests only 1 battery. Am I missing something? I am willing to take a chance on a light like this but I am a little confused.

Not sure why you say that as 68*2=134 so that leaves 43 mm for the head.

Don’t know. I just thought it sounded kind of short for two 18650 batteries. I was going by my 7g5 with the extension for the 4th cr123 is quite a bit longer than that. I guess the crelant has a much deeper head though. Wouldn’t the clicky tailcap take up another 20mm or so leaving only 20-25 mm for the head? Just trying to visualize this. I like it and want it but just want to make sure.

Well, that is a good point so maybe they have a extender of some sort? Or their measurements are off. :P

Well I hope I didn’t mess up. I just ordered it.

I never trust specs on any Chinees sites.Think they are just copied/pasted from something in a rush. DinoDirect is one of the worst examples of this.Headline says “Single” and picture looks like one battery.Hope for an extension?

I’ve ordered a lot of things so far this year. With the exception of a
tail cap for my G2 from DX , everything has arrived in short time.

Apparently, this will not be one of them… :frowning:

The Hong Kong Post did theirs…

:expressionless: * SO FAR , SEVEN DAYS SITTING IN NEW YORK !!* :expressionless:

Maybe is in your way already but the system dosent show it…

For whatever reason the usps NY ISC is very slow at updating its shipping status. I have had parcels “sit there” for 1.5 weeks, when in reality the items were in transit to california. I have had other shipments pass through LA and SF ISCs and they were updated in real-time.

I’d give it a few more days and see how it plays out.

It finally arrived today.
Total shipping isn’t bad.
It sat in N.Y. far longer than made me happy.
But what you gonna do…

To the light…
Golden SkyRay WF-666 .
1x 18650/26650 and a adapter was included.
5 modes: Hi, Med, Low , Disco and SOS
I’ve mentioned before that strobe modes irritate my eyes
in a short time. This one isn’t as bad, a much slower strobe.
The SOS is more like S.S.S. SOS. and there is no visible ( to me ) PWM.
The fit and finish is excellent.
Color appears the same as The SkyRay King. There are no faded or dark spots that I could see. The o-rings are green gitd and are correctly placed & sized.
Threads are good , deep with no sharp edges and are reasonably lubed.
None of that dry screech I hear & feel in many new lights. :Sp
The lanyard that came with it is too short to be useful.
It should have been twice as long , but that can be corrected.
I don’t have a 26650 battery so I stuck one of my newer JunkFire 3000”s in it.
Turned off every light and shined it around for about 15 minutes.
It’s bright, very bright. Much brighter than my Brinyte XML 900 or my TK35 clone on turbo. It has a Huge and I mean HUGE hotspot. Can’t wait till it gets dark to go outside and play with it , I mean test it out.
Heat sinking could be better but it’s OK. After 15 minutes of playing with it. the head was hot. Not scorching hot , but hot enough that you wouldn’t want to hold your hand on it for long.

Overall a nice light.
Is it worth $28.80 shipped ? Yes…
I’ve paid more far and gotten a whole lot less. …

More thoughts on it tomorrow….

Same happened for me here (post #10 and #13). It did finally arrive, but took longer from NYC~~>MA then from China~~> US. Nothing you can do about it. Just need to be patient.

Edit: Just read the last thread here and realized it came already. Please post beam shots. Thanks!

Would love to see some pictures if you’re set up for that.

Any news?

We just got our WF-666 in. It’s actually my brothers light - manxbuggy1. Looks good. It had one slight scratch on the head by the bezel, but not enough to worry about for a triple XML light at this price. The color is just slightly more silvery than the king I have, but still similar.
We always tests our lights lumens output via my lightbox, so that’s the first thing we did. It did pretty good. After 30 sec. it put out 1570 otf with a 4sevens 26650. With my Eagletac 18650 it dropped some to 1270 otf. Tried a cheapy ultrafire 18650 and it barely made it over 1000 otf. So obviously a good 26650 is the way to go. As a comparison my King tested at 2200 otf, my SR90 tested 2020 otf., and my S18 tested at 1170 otf. So the WF-666 does outstanding for a light that price.
We also tested its lux at 1 meter. It tested 19,800. Still not bad. My King put out 25,100 as as comparison. And my S18 tested at 33,000 lux. We will likely take it out tonite and test it’s true throw in a big park we have measured out in many meter ranges. The king we have tested right at about 350 yards to .25L. The S18 threw right at 400 yards. So we’re thinking the WF-666 should be close to the 300 yard range.
Anyway, we’re impressed with this light. Not quite as powerful as the King, but it was 1/4 the price.

Does the pill screw in or floater?

SOLD OUT

Just to clarify, the light that rdrfronty is referring to is the light in the op’s link. I was a little surprised to find it was a Skyray light for under $20 excluding shipping. We were pretty impressed with the output of the light. I received mine exactly 15 days after I ordered it.

I might be posting this in the wrong place. If so I am sorry and feel free to move it to its proper place. I would like to buy a good quality 26650 for my light and it seems like the king kong is rated as well as any so I guess I will probably get one of them. My question is this. They have 2 different types available. One is icr and the other is inr. Both are 3.7 vt and 4000mah. The icr is $7.90 and the inr is $8.50. I noticed also that mnke makes an imr. I dont know which to buy. Long run time isn’t an issue for me because I don’t leave on high for much over a minute at a time. This light is mostly a toy and wont see any real flashlight duty but it will get played with quite a bit. any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
Rick

The MNKE is a well regarded cell.

Theses should help you decide which is best for you…
In a multi cell light I believe it’s the i.n.r that is recommended

I have the light in this thread, and either one will work just fine.

Just be sure not to mix the chemistry’s, as it could cause a problem

.

Sorry folks no beam shots. Only have a camera on a cell phone & it’s practically worthless.
I’ll try to get some photos of the light tomorrow & post them…
