Mr. Beams Wireless LED Lights

Hi All,
I came across this forum and thought lighting enthusiasts like yourselves would be a great group to introduce Mr. Beams Wireless LED Lights. We are a small company based in Cleveland, OH looking to get our brand out to the public. We manufacture battery operated, easy to install, affordable LED Spotlights, Path Lights, Step/Stair Lights and Ceiling Lights. These are great for lighting dark areas (especially outdoors) without wires including closets, cabinets, decks, sheds. Our lights were designed with a motion sensor and auto shut off to conserve battery life (estimated to last up to a year). When purchased from our website, all of our products have a one month, money back guarantee as well as 1 year warranty, so you can try them risk free. I’d like to offer a special 30% discount to all Budget Light members. Please enter BUDGET as the promo code at checkout. If anyone will try or has tried our products, I’d love to hear your feedback/thoughts on them in a comment below.

Two slightly different threads, posted within hours of each other, by two different newbies, introducing Mr. Beams lights. Coincidence?

I was slightly amused,

Actually, the Anywhere Ceiling Light looks like a very nice product to me… I have a shower in my house that could use some additional illumination, and this product looks like it could fill that need nicely. Motion-activated with a timer; step in the shower, light comes on, leave the shower, light goes off! Specs are a bit varied; one place says Warm-White emitter and another place says Neutral-White, but either way, it should make a fairly natural light. I’ve looked before and haven’t found a similar product. Unfortunately, I’m strapped for cash at the moment and really can’t afford to be spending on stuff like this right now.

Hey MrBeams! Send me a sample and I’ll use it thoroughly and write a review here on BLF for you!
Sorry, no shots of it in use though… I don’t think ANYBODY here wants to see that…

I would love to hear what you think of the ceiling light in your shower. The only item in question would be the amount of light in your bathroom and where the shower is located. Some customers can install in their shower and it works fine, but since our lights have a light sensor, if light is sensed, it may prevent the light from activating. We offer to remove the light sensor for customers that may have this issue and they are satisfied with the results; though you may go through batteries more quickly without this function. If you are interested, let me know how can we do this…can you send me a private message with your info?

Tell me this, which of your lights feature STAY ON (occupancy) when motion detected? That is, continually reset the turn-off timer instead of allowing the time-out to reach, then turn off -> on again?

The amount of ambient light in the bathroom would be my only concern as I would imagine it would be to bright to work without the light sensor. Does the light sensor actually switch the motion sensor off? then, if the light sensor is removed or over-ridden (black tape over sensor?) then the motion sensor would remain on 24-hours/day and thus, cut battery life by half or more. Although, if it’s dark in the bathroom during the daytime (as it is in ours) the motion sensor would be on anyway… Hmmmm; speculation!

If you are serious about providing an evaluation sample, send me a PM and we can discuss it… Keeping in mind that I am not a professional reviewer, just a Budget Light Fan on BLF, and I will be brutally honest in any reviews!

Currently none of the lights are manufactured to stay on at all times. When they were originally designed battery life & efficiency were a big focus. We have specially manufactured larger batches for specific needs with the timer removed. Some of our lights have a longer timer option like our MB371 which can be set to stay on for 30 seconds or 10 minutes. We are however looking at coming out with a new model that will allow the lights to stay on for longer periods of time (about 1 or 2 hours).

The question I have would be: Does the light remain on if continued motion is detected for the duration of the motion, or does it come on for the 30 seconds, turn off, then turn back on after re-detecting the motion?

Keltx,
I responded to your first questions in a pm. But in case anyone else is wondering the answers I will include them here as well. The light will remain on during a continued motion. Once no motion is sensed it will turn off after the auto shut off time. (Keep in mind prolonged activation will drain the battery more quickly.)
The light sensor overrides the motion sensor. If the light sensor is removed, the motion sensor will work independently and turn on when motion is sensed no matter if it is in light or darkness.

… on this thread

Good stuff. I could recommend some tweaks I’d like to see on them, but that would add to the price. I bought mine through Amazon.com and I believe they were about $27 for a three-pack, shipped.

The modification mentioned to the shower light also sounds interesting to me. I’ll have to look into that.

Thanks for the customers who shared feedback.
Regarding the last response the post, I mentioned this on the other thread, but I have been reading comments for some time as I wanted to be sure this forum would be the right customer base for our products so my comments would be welcomed in the community. The customer from Australia came up in my search for our products so I decided it was a good time to try and post something. Also, Amazon is one of our online distributors, so it is not to compete with their pricing. Many customers choose to purchase directly from us for different reasons such as a promotion we are running, tax costs or customization such as removing a sensor for them. I apologize if it was not received well.
