2x18650 mounted side by side Budget flashlight ?

Hello guys ,

do you know some budget flashlight powered by two 18650 batteries mounted side by side (alongside) ?

I mean similar to Fenix TK35, EagleTac M3C4 for example ?

Don't know of one - would buy it if I knew about it.

I went through a few dozen flashlight retailers and wholesalers recently specifically looking for that. Found nothing.

I believe it has to do with ease of manufacture and cost associated with such. For example, with 2 cells in series the only thing needed is a longer tube and the head/tailcap can remain the same. Going to a side-by-side design would complicate that. Regardless, I want to see this design as well in all battery sizes. Hmm...When I get back to work I may have to play around with this idea.

I'm surprised that there aren't any Fenix TK35 and EagleTac M3C4 knock-offs out there yet. They are usually pretty good at putting out cheap knock-offs after new flashlights come out. Slackers!

Hehe, yeah It's something rather a lot of us seem to be after.

Although not a 2-up, this one has had my attention for quite some time:

http://www.shenzhen-wholesale.com/ulrafire-rl2088-luminus-sst50-led-318650-strong-light-flashlight_sku3052.html

They used to come with a weird osram ostar 6 die package but are now sst-50 equipped. The quality is said to be extraordinary for an ultrafire light. SMO large reflector and 3 x 18650's built with a lot of attention to detail. Maybe one of these days I'll pick one up. To many others things to play with at the moment so it'll have to wait. Great CPF review here.

Nickname for this one should be FATBOY.

3 x 18650's, and you want to call it the "FATBOY"??????? Hmm... lets rethink that for a moment. LOL!

I wasn't even thinking about that. I was going by the way it looks to me........short and fat. Laughing

If something goes wrong electrically in this configuration.... the name fits...

It's cheaper at manafont

for a 3 x XM-L project. The head is big enough for it. The only downside is the price.
