I share feeling with Hill, getting more disappointed on CPF these days, but I am still hanging in there.
lost some post & PMs due to the 1:30 back-up roll back, including some that I am sure was posted before that time stamp.
I post some mods on both CPF & BLF now, it seems to get more responses here which really surprised me. Indication that BLF might be surpassing CPF in some are, something none of the other forum had achieved. it’s no small task!
Maybe BLF can create a HID section, a surefire and Non Budget sub forum?
Budget is more of an issue for early stage of flasholics,
I think the appetite will natually grow on some members so that they may be interested in expensive lights not bang for the buck?

Bang for the buck doesn’t always mean cheap. Whatever the price, expensive or not, if it’s good BLFers will buy it.
ma_sha1, it is great to have you here and so many other new members. HID is a good idea, but I think 'Budget' is a state of mind, a starting point as you mentioned, and it is different for everyone. Plenty of expensive light reviews are posted here already - look at many done by TurboBB. I can't touch most of those lights, or my wife would kill me if she saw me spending that much on a light. I think we all appreciated them and enjoy reading the reviews.
Everybody’s “budget” is different. One persons “Noway I’m spending that much on a flashlight” is another persons “Seems like a great deal”. It’s a relativity thing. I too, would like to see a couple of new catagories dealing with “non budget” lights. I have way to many “non budget” lights and need more! We should be all inclusive.
CPF management is the root cause for CPF’s imminent failure. It’s a shame. There were tons (there are still many) of great contributors but many were chased away by jackbooted cyber thug thought police and computer guru wannabes that can’t even complete a simple backup without bringing the site to it’s knees on a far to regular basis.
On the high side, many CPF refugees come here! Thank you CPF.
Yeah, CPF ran off some great people that tested “JUNK” that people were selling. One of those people was Jarhead or Newbie.

I think a HID section would be great! HID flashlights aren’t often talked about in the forums… eBay HIDs or well known brands. A place where we could congregate our knowledge of HIDs into one place would be great so I don’t have to google left, right and center to find the right answer I’m looking for

I just think BLF is a better forum to discuss mods in that you can openly post pics, URL product links, and even subjective opinions very openly without worry of rule violations. I can’t even post my pics there because they are 1024x768. I post pics here and you guys love them and want more… Where do you think I’m more likely to visit? Are people today still using monitors small enough to require an 800x800 image size rule?
Bessiebenny and bluebeam22 are two CPFers I kind of miss. I spent countless hours scouring through BBs threads before the CPF nazis ran him out. Bluebeam22 was really into spotlights and big dish throwers of the more affordable variety. He just up and left one day.
I kind of miss mardukes rants too… not sure what they did to him.
Down again (migrating to a new server). Love ’em or hate ’em they do have some good stuff. So good it’s shared over here occasionally. And you can’t tell me them’s that be over here don’t admire some of milky’s surefire mods ar jayrob’s maglite classics
Why would they need to migrate to a new server, all their users came to BLF.

I held on for a long time, but arely go there anymore other than to check out vinh’s stuff. Some cool people there but thankfully most of them moved here.
Im continually suprised at the management’s overbearing attitude. Don’t understand how that place is still going considering how people have a much better alternative.
I felt compelled to also leave there.
Think about it, membership is down which means advertising revenue is down. Which means running the site gets harder and harder.
I haven’t been there in years. Far too much snotty attitude over there for me.
It costs $15 to run a 2tb server.
Even if they actually have a decent load, it’s not that expensive. A flashlight forum isn’t going to need anything high spec like Reddit, Twitter, FB, etc
