A 3 x T6 HD2010?

Is this new, or have I just not been paying attention?

There’s also a black version that’s 8 bucks cheaper.
Too bad it’s not being fed more power.
I don’t think it can go up against a Dry or a King.
Decent price though.

Wow! 1800 lumens from a 3 XML light? What’s the world coming two when you can’t trust the Chinese to overrate their output by a factor of at least three. Shouldn’t this thing be a 5000 sino-lumen light :quest:

With a single 18650 battery, that thing is gonna have a run time of about 15 minutes…

Being fed from a single cell, means all three Xml are wired in parallel. To fed them 3A each means draw 9A from a single cell. To me this can be scary for the safety of the cell, even for top brand 26650.
This could be the reason why they decided to underdrive the xml at a mere 1,9A (declared).

Then also the thermal path has to be checked. There was discussion somewhere about a 3xfloating design which is very bad for thermal path, not sure what flashlight it was referred.

pass… underdriven 3-XML arrangement. Spring floating drop-in, no thermal path.

If as claimed its 1.9A per emitter, that’s 5.7a total so prob 45min on full from a top rated 22650. At this current the output should be around 600lumens each (see Matchs test) so the 1800 is accurate. Sure it will be floody with less throw but this thing is at least in theory 800+ lumens brighter than the HD2010 single!

At 1.9a the emitters will also be far more efficent so heat might be less than expected.

I think I’d like this light but PWM is unknown and that’s a deal breaker for me.

Theres pictures somewhere but I cant find them that it does not have a screw in pill from memory. This will not be good from getting rid of heat. Maybe someone will link a picture.

tmart has the tangsfire version

It’s the exact same light as the Tangsfire and the Beamtech BT-4000. Floating pill design and poor thermal transfer. Even under driven it’d still be brighter than an HD2010 but without any of the throw and, after all, that’s what is so great about the HD2010 in the first place.

How good is the single emitter HD2010 at throwing then? I was under the impression it was good but certainly a cut below the favourite reflectored throwers ie, Crelant 7G5, Olight M3X and even the sub 500 lumen SF MPP1…

Well, I have seen reports from several sources reporting lux figures between 45k & 57K. Pretty danged good especially for a smaller single celled thrower. Aren’t many, if any, single cell throwers that match it.

If its at the upper end of your scale it out throws all the above I mentioned, iirc 2100 measured the Crelant under 50Kcd :0

A co-worker bought one of these a while back and was super-proud of it. It’s much brighter than the typical Wal-Mart Maglite but not impressive for what you get. I wasn’t able to do a side-by-side comparison, but I believe that my TR-1200 is a much better performer. It seemed underwhelming compared to what I was expecting from the first 3x-XML light I had ever seen.

Even if this light actually does push ~1500-1800 bulb lumens on a cold start, it will sag and drop immediately with no-where for the heat to go. A better design for this light would be to severely under-drive the LEDs, run them cool and maintain a more steady-state. Its basically a heat source surrounded by big air pocket, and ambient air is probably the most perfect insulator in the natural world.

Its not a bad light, its just not going to be as bright as the better 3-XML lights for very long.
