Seems they are sending the Multi button cell keychain lights again instead of the AAA mini tac ..
I'm mad at myself for not getting a few more of these they are nice little cheap AAA lights ..
Coast just makes people nutty by switching around the lights they put in this 3.50$ deal
If it's a crap shoot it's not a good deal ...WAIT until they start shipping the mini tac's again .. it's a nice light for 3.50
@ 7 lumens the battery will last into the next decade

So far I can confirm everything Jekostas stated in his review...except runtime (although I'm looking to try this out).

This is an AAA light. As the cell drops below a certain voltage threshold it switches to a moonlight mode, which is more or less constant for about 10-11 hours. Very similar to how the Fenix E01 works.

not ringy not purpley or ugly ,Some people say they have gotten really ugly beam and odd tints minitac , these have always been a crap shoot you lay your money down and you roll the dice ...sometimes they send you a great lil light .. other times a real piece of junk /keychain light . Makes life interesting ..

Yay, got the Minitac! It feels quite good in the hand. Definitely won't blow away with the output or beam quality, but can't really complain, especially for the price. Probably a fantastic emergency light for the car.
Did you get the boxed one or the plastic packaging .?? I got the box like match ..makes it seem much nicer .. smart marketing
Got the boxed one, but it's not a pretty blue one. Just black with a crooked Coast LED Lights sticker. Can't complain though.

I'm sorry to revive an old thread, but I had a quick question about this light. Does anyone know if a 10400 would fry it? I'm guessing it is direct drive, but that is just a guess. I think the 5MM Nichia GS is only rated to 3.4 v though.
The current that you're supposed to send through these are tiny compared to cree's, so no it probably won't work and you wouldn't want to do it even if it did.
