Hey guys just joined from CPF.

I've never heard anyone say that the surefire is that much better than a Solarforce ...Do you have a real solarforce ? multiples ?? The comments i've heard were that solarforce was as good or better than surefire ..i'd heard that repeatedly so i assumed Surefire was still better stuff just 5 times the price . I have no idea as I have no surefire and probably never will .

I agree that Solarforce is sufficiently better than ultra-fire and the quality merits the purchase ..BUT it still is double or more than the cheaper 10~15$ 504 xml 3 or 5 mode ultrafires on one hand you're comparing a 15$ light to a 30$ light ...to a 100$ light...Most noobs imho have a problem buying a 15$ host and a 15$ drop-in a 10 charger and a 15$ set of batteries ...60$ for a flashlight is a hard pill for a noob to swallow so naturally they bail on buying quality and buy bad batteries or a cheaper light ...

BLF was a better budget forum when it promoted 6~11$ AA lights..IMHO the xml hurt the budget light craze more than anything else cuz it demands the extra juice

Comparisons between BLF and CPF are stupid….if you fail to see the difference.

Welcome to BLF…and yes they seem to be down more often lately i noticed.

I have a 2 of L2P’s and have owned other Solarforce lights in the past, Masterpiece Pro-1, several L2’s, and various drop ins, they are great lights for the money worth every cent, but they definitely don’t compare to Surefire anyone that who tells you Solarforce is as good or better hasn’t owned both, my favorite is a HA C2 centurion with a nichia 219 drop in not the brightest light I own but one of my favorites.

Welcome to BLF

I know I bought six of the Ultrafire 504Bs because they were $8 dollars compared to $18 dollars for the Solarforce L2P. I will admit I sold all my 504Bs now except one and replace them with the much nicer but double the price Solarforce hosts, I blame Foy for this.

I don’t know why people went off on a tangent about Surefire. Mr Krab never mentioned Surefire in his post only Solarforce versus Ultrafire.

I like the new solarforce much better than the old ..I agree it looked cheaply painted .that's why I asked if Burro had multiples ...My advice is buy the new stuff over the old .And I agree with E1320 all of my ultrafire has been replaced with solarforce .

Sorry Burro I wasn't insinuating you didn't know Solarforce .

Welcome to BLF Mr Krabs. CPF goes down more than a hook… ah nevermind.

Welcome to the cool kids' club, Mr_Krabs!

Welcome aboard Mr. krabs. Raccoon city did you put that doll in the mud & take a pic LOL? Too funny!

Keith

I hope you have fun here, I know I do.

Welcome to BLF. I never had any run ins with moderators over there but have read enough posts from those who have experienced unfair treatment that I can well understand some of the ill will. I just found it too confrontational for my piece of mind. Too many threads degenerated into personal attacks and typo abuse over trivia. This place really encourages creative thinking and it’s denizens are extremely helpful and humorously supportive. You’ll like it here.

Burro - "anyone that who tells you Solarforce is as good or better hasn’t owned both"

Hmmm . . .

fewwordsFoy

Don’t get all worked up, Foy.

Burro gets a bujowski from Grunta for every 10 times he defends CPF or Surefire…

laughing (very hard)

Burro - I'm just havin' some fun with you, it's all good.

Mr Krabs, a very warm welcome to you (just in case DM51 or Norm forget to do it).

Welcome aboard

I really think you need to look at SF’s HA, I not overly impressed with 6P’s a Solarforce L2P is definitely a great cheap alternative to the 6P.

PS I resent the Grunta remark, I call it the way I see it (which seems to rub some members up the wrong way), I’m a big boy and can make up my own mind.

Your bujowski comment was wasted on me, I’m not familiar with the term and Google was no help.

Welcome!

I own a few Solarforce ‘L’ (I like the L2P the most) series lights and a ton of Surefires (65+). I like both but there are major differences between the two manufacturers. Surefire has a lifetime warranty for starters. I see folks slamming the P6. Keep in mind that the P6 (the one everybody has copied for years) is the bottom of the line for Surefire. Entry level, if you will, for Surefire lights. 20 years ago it was known as the 6P and had NO competitors. It is still a darn good light. Top of the line would be the Hellfighter 4. Yes, they are expensive but everybody’s “budget” is different.

I’m not going to say that the Surefire lights are the best at everything. Some are and some are not. I will say that I have never had one I didn’t like and didn’t keep in the collection. I can’t say that about any of the other manufacturers I have purchased from. Excluding some custom builders ($$$:money_mouth_face: that I have also spent money on to feed my sickness.

I have purchased many inexpensive lights (lots of good information here on them) based on members experience and for the most part, I have been pretty happy with most of them. Some, not so much. They get given away. The great thing about lights is that there is something for everybody. No matter what the price. Enjoy.

Hi. Welcome to BLF!

welcome !! you’ve definitely get the right place!

uh…YellowHorse isnt kidding. Very modest! Wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if a Surefire logo
inst tattooed onto he’s torso. ( old and new)
