Review: Trustfire Mini-01

Hey buddy,

Yeah looks like I might need a charger aswell… right now I use mostly 18650 batteries that I use in that cheap ‘mobile power box’ with the mini-usb slot to charge from mains. I also have the ML-102 from intl-outdoor which is nice but I think I forgot to buy the aluminium spacers for it to charge 14500 (for my sipik sk68 clone), 16340, etc. Will see if Hank can’t throw those in my next order.

Your charger looks good based on reviews. Might look into that.

Take care,

Alex

That ML-102 looks good. I hadn’t seen those before. I have an Xtar mp1 for my 18650’s but it only charges at 500mA. Your ML-102 will charge at 1000mA from the mains. I could do with that for faster charging.

Cheers
Matt

I’m in for 2, please up date the final tag
I live in Vietnam, right next to China so consider shipping will be the same to Us right?

Thanks for that. Looks very good, and i like the voltage display mod too.

Cheers
Matt

My Yezl 16340’s arrived today to try in the Mini-01
They are protected cells with 3.2A max discharge. They are 3-4mm longer than the LifeP04’s, so a tighter fit in the Mini-01, making operating it a little stiffer due to the pressure from the spring. A mod to the spring might help ease of use.
The result is seriously impressive. This little light is SO BRIGHT now, and becomes a hand warmer very quickly.
I don’t have any measuring equipment, but it seems as bright as a 600 lumen light i have

Has anybody tried an IMR 16340 in this light yet?

Cheers
Matt

im in for two as well.
so what type of battery is everybody using ? i only have a pair of eXtremeBeam 16340 1000 mah 3.7v.

will these work fine or are these low quality cells?

Post back with a link when you get it. Cheapest I see is still 16.22 ea.

Thanks for the legwork on this!

Thanks a lot for joining, tungsten2k. Welcome to the show!

I used to live in San Jose. If you don't mind me asking, which part of the San Francisco Bay Area are you from?

Thanks- I live at the top of Mt. San Bruno above the Cow Palace in Daly City. I’ve lived all around the bay, including several addresses in San Jose… weather is nice down there, but night life leaves much to be desired.

One nice thing about San Jose is that all outdoor lighting in the Eastern area is required to use Low Pressure Sodium lighting in order to limit light pollution from affecting the Hamilton Observatory; that means that your high-power lights (and lasers) will show up even brighter

update apologies she said the boss said they wont make any more for 13$ now…

how ever i did found this deal if u live in same states as someone mayb can do group buy even cheaper!!

would someone like to show some beam shots of their tiny monster. maybe do some side by sides…

Here’s a beamshot of my Mini-01 running on a 3.2v LifeP04. Ill try a beamshot using a 3.7v 16340 later and see if the difference comes through in the photo’s.

Nice one, Matt! :cowboy_hat_face:

Cheapest is $16.22? I think easylightbuy has it for $15.05 with free shipping anywhere.

I confirm the 15.05 + free shipping at easylightbuy.com.
Should somebody contact them and ask for an offer?

Still haven’t received mine. Easylightbuy gave me a tracking number which shows it hasn’t left China. I mentioned this to Jacky, their sales rep, who checked with China Post, and said it was on its way. That was a fortnight ago. He promised to send another if I don’t get it in 35 days, but that is looking increasingly unlikely.

Not sure what to do - even if another is sent after 35 days, I won’t get it within the 45 day Paypal dispute period.

Any thoughts?

And of course, it arrives the next day

Nice light, heavier than I thought, but threads need a good clean & greasing. I’m a happy bunny again.

Now, where’s that Klarus MiX6 Au from Dino that was allegedly sent on the 6th

Good to hear, ordered mine yesterday J)

Good to hear it arrived.

I found that once cleaned and greased the threads were great with no battery installed, but i think the pressure from the spring is pushing the cell into the head and causing friction on the threads as they turn, so the operation still isn’t as smooth as i’d like. Pushing the head into the body as you turn helps.

Same?? Or not?

Looks the same but chances are you will just receive a coin. :P
