Does anyone know if the HD2010 has low voltage protection/cut off?

Just bought the one from Tmart. Couldn’t find the answer in any of the reviews, was wondering if it has a low voltage cut off when using un-protected 26650 cells? My guess it doesn’t.

When one is checking voltage of their un-protected 26650 cells to determine if they are getting close to minimum, does it have to be under load or can you do a reading with the battery removed. If so what should the minimum off-load voltage be to require charging?

Thanks

No the HD2010 does not have any kind of low voltage protection. It will run the cell all the way down. I ran an old 18650 cell all the way down to a fraction of a lumen once just to try it.

The lowest I have depleted a cell is about 2.85V. It recovered fine. I try and keep my cells above ~3.25V after immediate removal. They’ll usually rebound back up to ~3.5 after a couple minutes. I hardly ever discharge my cells this far though.

Was that cell protected, kramer?

No it was an unprotected Sanyo 18650
