Just Dreaming

Love my Ultrafire HD2010, it has a great beam profile, nice to hold, but it could be so perfect if…

-It had a side clicky, maybe like the King has or even the TK41
-Four modes, including the current Hi-Med-Lo, then a moonlight low
-Hidden slow-flash beacon mode
-Optional extender tube that would let it run on 3 x “C” batteries.
-A Foybezel, no crenelations.
-A snap-on diffuser, since I’m dreaming.
-A nice coated, high-transmissive lense.
-Regulated current that automatically went to moonlight low at 3.6v
-Choice of Neutral White emitter

Yeah, I think I would have about 4 of those, and that would cover 80% of my flashlight needs.

OK, since its a dream, give me a choice of some bright colors like the Solarforce hosts, Red-Blue-Camo. But I do think the gray HD2010 from Tmart is one of the best looking colors on my lights. I’m tired of black.

I would love a side clicky on my HD2010 and a lantern attachment like the Solarforce one and since we are dreaming a USB charging port.

I think 26650 lights are hard to operate one-handed with a tail switch. A side switch would be nice

I want all my lights to have the finish of my ThruNite or Fenix lights and I want to be able to select the UI, so I can have 2 or 3 modes depending on how I'm using it. And I want to be able to adjust the brightness of those modes whenever I choose.

I would like all my torches to fold up into a tiny coin shaped object and when I need one, it phases right into my hand. And on every one I just think of the lumen/intensity/throw-flood preference and it happens just like that. In fact, I would like the light to just come out of my finger, like ET, and be upgradable whenever I just think….What? Oh, sorry, I was just dreaming. Never mind. :davie:

Welcome to BLF, darklion! I like the way you think.

You know, my “dream light” as described in the OP above (with 3 “C” cells) would be the perfect Next Generation Maglite. That would be a seriously fine torch.

I just want a HD2010 that has more modes than high! I just took mine apart and put it together again and now I only get high with both and 18650 and a 26650! Anyone know where to get a 3 mode driver w/a 3.5 amp high?

E1320 is the go-to guy for this kind of thing. Erik did a great job on my 10-7135 driver, although I think hes swamped at the moment with his recent group buy activity. Its not a simple 17mm driver swap into this light though, the 7135 chips on the battery side of the board interfere with the HD2010 retainer. So it requires some hand fabrication to get it to work.

Its not an easy DIY (probably the hardest solder job i have ever done), but I have had great results with the illumination supply 380mA premium BIN driver. I stacked another 7135 chip to make it a 9x like so many others have done in the past. The IS driver has the 4 stars so you can pick which mode set you want from a standard group. I run this driver in 3-mode with my stanley fatmax.

OP that would be an expensive light. I like the side click switch too.
