Review: Trustfire Mini-01

Can you use a 3.7v battery for this light?

I ordered one but I do have the grey protected Ultrafire 16340’s…

High temps are typical for SS lights. The material cools poorly.

I’m using 3.7v protected cells. The light is much brighter, and gets hot faster though.

modding the top part by adding fins might be the only option to dispurse the heat.

$13.55 + .85 shipping. Just ordered mine because, well… I just couldn’t help it. Anyone try 18350s in one of these yet? I already have a pair of TF Flame 16340s. Just figured a longer run-time might be nice, unless the little beast ends up having dangerous heat issues.

18350 will not fit. The light is too tiny.

I was in the same boat as you. I just had to buy this little guy as well. Regarding the heat buildup, a good quality thermal paste along with thermal rings on the outside. Perhaps using two or three perfectly fit washers (nothing too big) wrapped around the top part where the pill is and set permanently might do the trick. Just a thought for now.

Gotcha. That’ll save my 18350s for my L2m and 501a. Thanks!

has anyone gotten one that doesn’t do next mode memory? or is that just the way they all are…I hate next mode memory…

Oh, cool. Thanks for that. Let’s see where we’re at on this thread when our Minis show up.

Mine reverts back to high mode after being switched off for more than a few seconds.

If a battery is shipped without proper packaging, meaning the positive and negative are not fully protected, customs can send the package back to it’s sender.

Mine came in a clam shell plastic blister pack, with the battery separate from the light, so not much chance of a short, but then again, not exactly “properly” packed in the eyes of officious customs people.

All depends who is doing the inspecting at customs. Catch a guy or gal who’s had a hard day at home and the package gets sent back.

Got mine!

Light and battery came packaged in the usual style (lots of bubble wrap, no retail box). Light was in perfect condition tho, no marks or imperfections. Just like the Sipik this was smaller than I anticipated. Short and not too wide at all. Matt’s green lipo also came in a seperate package on the same day which was nice. Verrry bright with the lipo and still impressive with the supplied trustyfire. Gonna have to pick up some of those yezl’s… really like this light gonna get another. It’s living in my coinz pocket in my jeans, had it on my keychain but didn’t want it getting smacked up and scratched or broken so will see how I go.

Cheers!

Nice! Any way of posting some beam shots or perhaps a video?

Cheers!

Great news on the light, and perfect timing with the LifeP04 too  Good idea getting a second one, i think i might too.

Cheers
Matt

just bought one at weekend…. i now have to wait for it to arrive to the uk

How long do shipments usually take from China to the Uk?
I’m in Ireland. It usually takes 3-4 weeks, but a Solarforce light i got last week only took about 7 days.

well i got a keygos ke-5 which took 24 days…… came outputting about 100 lumens on high so i got in touch and there is another free of charge on the way… this trustfire says 11 to 24 days and the keygos replacement was shipped on the 19th last month so i think its definatly always going to be around 3 weeks or so to the uk.
