Heavy Rains = Flood, not a good sign even for flashaholics

Sorry to hear about the floods, good luck fighting the rising waters.
Personally floods don’t affect my area at all since m area is very hilly, and i’m on the top of a very large hill. Unless the power goes out my torches remain unused. Unless I go to investigate and help people.

Sorry to hear about that, I hope it won’t be too bad.

Here in the north of Spain, we haven’t had any big flood, it rains often and the soil abosrves better than in places it doesn’t that often and suddenly rains a lot.

Best Wishes and Prayers for you and you’re loved ones safety

Hope you have flood insurance. The damage can get pretty costly, depending on if you have drywall or brick. And also what type of flooring, and stuff like couches getting moldy if you don’t get them out in time. Sorry about the flooding though. Did this come out of nowhere, or were all the water pumps notavailable/sold out/ expensive. Being that your in the phillipines I’m thinking it was a hurricane or tropical storm.

In the states, especially in my area of Wisconsin, if we had a huge storm that rained alot, it probably wouldn’t cause flooding due to all the lakes and river being down at least 1-5 feet from normal, and the grounds super dry. But, I think it was last year we had flooding, during the spring. It was crazy, water was like a foot deep ONTOP of the road. All the ditches were totally full. My friend is in a pretty low spot, and at the end of his street(which is pretty low) he had like 3 feet of water ontop of the road and was able to swim. I myself wouldn’t, he’s just swimming in rubber and oil and dirt.

It’s wierd all the crazy weather we’ve been having the past couple years. This drought over the whole states, we had almost no snow this winter, maybe a few inches, and a super hot summer. When I was a kid like 10 years ago, we used to get a 95 degree day once every couple years. Yet, this summer, we had weeks straight of 100 degree days.

Oh man, sorry to hear about this... :( Will be praying for you and everyone impacted.

Stay safe!,

Tim

Best of luck to you and yours - I hope everyone stays safe.

Flooding is no joke.

I hope all is ok with everyone there….we’ll be praying for you all.

You and yours will be in my thoughts. Best of wishes and good luck.

Thanks a lot guys, this realy unexpected. I even have to walk through flood just to get home. We have no electrcty now and the water stil rising but slowly. Good thing its not raining as hard.we dnt have insuranc but d important thing is wer fine. Im d asigned lookedout while everyone asleep. My lights is all over the house on low mode.

You got a way for keeping your laptop charged? Any idea how long till electricity will be repaired? Sounds like the worst is over. Hope so.

Keith

Using my android phone to surf the net, good tng even though its a simple phne it got long batery life, i also have a usb chaqger using 18650/26650 batts. I also hope d worst is over. I just cant imagine dat aftr al of this flood there is no storm sgnal here, heavy rains for days just causd by low presure area. We wil probly have no electrcty for a few more days as electric sockets are undr water.

were feeling the effects of climate change. expect more of these floods and rains in the future. i pass around my spare “non-flashaholic lights” to my family and friends during these times. being a flashaholic during these calamities is like being a beacon of light in the dark.

we spread light in our homes and to our limited extent, to our friends and loved ones.

ingat bro.

Just got electricity back after 3 days of blackout. Cleaning and getting the house back into form is just a lot of work.

The pain is charging all the batteries used, I now learned a lesson of modding new lights with single modes set at 20-30 lumens(Any idea where to get drivers like this?). People around here loves to use my lights on high mode. 8)

Also used most of my batteries on on Mobile Chargers (AA and 18650 powered). After 3 days still have several spares but not confident if my batteries will last a week supplying juice to those android phones. Need to stock more 18650 batts.

Back to drawing board.

Nothing like an actual emergency to show the deficits in one’s planning.

I’m glad to hear that you are back on the grid and safe.

EDIT: You may wish to contact E1320 for a custom driver for emergency use. I believe he could program one for your specific requirements.

Glad you are back up as well as safe. I hope the water damage to your home wasn’t too bad.

Glad you made it ok Ian. I was just wondering how you got on when I saw this post. I doubt any of us are truly prepared for such things. Sounds like you did as well as can be expected.

Glad you are okay. Seen a few floods myself over the years. Not a nice experience.

Glad you’re OK.
Cleaning up is the worst bit, I was a volunteer after the Brisbane floods a couple of years ago, and there was way more work than I expected from a bit of water through houses.

After things got clear I’m missing two light in my inventory,
My two brightest lights is misplaced or worst stolen.

And this… is why I never hand out my expensive lights to kids. They have a tendency to keep things that aren’t theirs.
