Match's Riddle: Drinking and modding...Answered

Amazing as usual Match!

congratulation on you’re new flashlight , very interesting, I like the simple design .

alcohol + lathe = hospital (It would for me anyway)

Have you ever dabbled in anodizing?

Nicee. How long did that take you?

Lol

Match. Unbelievable, forget whatever drink it was, without it it would take me a month to do what you did and it would probably look as rough as guts as well. Nice job. Some more pictures would be good if you had them. My shout. Cheers.

Another awesome mod , Match !

I hurt myself with annoying regularity when sober, I can’t even imagine using anything more dangerous than a spoon after a few drinks.

Absolutely stunning light though, really beautiful contrast between the different materials. If you fancy trying a different optic,

are getting rave reviews. I have a batch on order to try out, hopefully they’ll be even nicer than the LC1 optics I’m very fond of.

Match, that’s gorgeous! If you make stuff like that whilst sipping Patron then I’d love to see what you can do under full concentration. 8)

Nice!

I agree on the frosted, like the EDC´s floody.

BTW: what watch in the pic?

Thanks for the compliments guys! Some of those comments (and pictures) are hilarious! No worries on the safety aspect...I'm a sipper not a chugger, and can still count to 10 on my fingers Wink

Not yet. I'm actually trying to locate a local shop to do anodizing for me....HAIII if I can find it.

Eh... Lathe time was a couple of hours, because I didn't know what I was going to do, just sort of made it up as I went along. Soldering, LED mounting, and switch installation was less than 10min. Polishing took the longest.... I really need a dedicated electric polishing arbor.

Thanks. I'm particularly fond of the bare metal contrast look. Please let me know what you think of those optics when you get them in. I may have to order a few.

I'm guessing you know already... Wink It's a GMT-Master II that I bought over 10 years ago before I got married and had a thing called "disposable income". Considering it's only been off my wrist maybe a total of 30 minutes in the past decade, it's held up suprisingly well. Darn tough (and good looking) watch.

Nice job Match. I am particularly impressed with the lens retaining ring. Nice skills.

you’re welcome! It’s way prettier than what I have planned for my next light, although that’s not a terribly high bar to beat  PM me your address and I’ll pop one of the optics in the post when they arrive, I only need one at the moment.

Is there a risk of shock since your holding bare metal, say if you touched copper pipes or something grounded?

Thanks for the offer! I'll take you up on that. PM forthcoming..

The only shock risk would be from touching it to a live bare conductor....much like sticking a fork in an outlet, whizzing on an electric fence, or licking a Jacob's ladder. As fun as those practices are, I must advise against such actions Wink

Damn is that nice it looks like a piece of jewelry, great job pass the Patron down here.

I just got 6 of those Sanyo 2600 mAh 18650s on Thursday, I am quite liking them so far (especially considering I only paid 15 bucks for them total) I definitely need a new charger though, a 2600 mAh battery takes WAY too long to charge at 320 mA, Sanyo says/recommends they can be charged at 1750 mA in 2.5 hours.

Try charging at 225 mah on my charger!

15 bucks, from where?

Sorry, they where in a 2011 dated Lenovo laptop battery I picked up at the swap meet, the guy flooded (or rather his 2 year old flooded) the laptop and he was selling the thing for parts. I managed to just buy the battery.
