Knife lovers, indulge yourself

A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

Cocobolo Mcusta folder

So sharp it will scare you.

I have the same knife in Quincewood, very nice little folder! I Only wish the pocket clip was removable.

Vey nice troop, but dang it all now why did you have to go and post that. I have always liked Mcusta knives and that sale price is the best I have yet seen. Hmmm

Beautiful!

That is a real beauty.

If I was sure it would get through customs I would order one for sure.

Can’t see any reason why that wouldn’t go thru customs- no flick etc. A real beauty……

They are getting so picky here anything without a closed and halfway detent that isn’t hard to open with one hand may not get through. They are classing them as “assisted openers” and confiscating them. Fixed blades are ok within limits, but they have gone mad on folders it seems.

I would argue than any action instigated by a human to open a knife assists it, that kind of the point. The law was written to ban spring release flick knives.

The nanny state is taking over

I’ve pretty much blocked out all knife information because of aussie import laws.
If we had an easy to read detailed description of what type of knives we can and can’t import then that would make things so much easier.
But since the law’s so hazy right now (stupid people stabbing each other on the street) I don’t buy them online since I don’t want to risk getting them confiscated.
$100 isn’t chum money… :frowning:

They even scan unregistered parcels? (eg First class airmail for USPS)

What is wrong with Aus? In the USA, we can pretty much own any knife we want and nobody goes around stabbing people. Why is it you have to ban knives and guns in AUS and the UK to stop people from killing each other? Why so violent? People think America is violent but our rights to own guns and knives actually keep us safe. I never feel in danger so much as when I am in England. That place is a land of thugs.

People say “AUS is the Alabama of the world only dumber” but even Alabama has more sensible weapons laws.

The knives are not illegal to own in any state.

All knifes are generally illegal to carry in public without a valid reason, eg needed for work. Once the specific need for use is over the reason to carry is also over. The knife can not then be carried on the person.

What is happening is that customs have taken it upon themselves to seize knives that can be legally purchased in retail outlets. The prohibition is only on the importation, This apparently depends on the interpretation of the duty officer at the time. This has been said to apply to certain multi tools eg Leatherman Wave, even though the act specifically excludes such multi tools from the classification.

The act is ambiguous and badly worded, and was written to prohibit the import of spring loaded or assisted flick knives. It is now being interpreted as applying to any knife capable of one handed opening, even ones that require the “assistance” to be provided by the user, i.e., pushing on a thumb stud. The interpretation is probably illegal, but who challenges it over a $10-100 item? Not worth the time and expense in court, especially if you lose.

It’s actually total BS but who can argue with customs? They have more authority than regular police and no accountability.

Mcusta makes very nice knives. I have some Browning Ice Storm knives made for Browning by Mcusta. They have very sharp blades and very well made.

Were a true bargain. VG10 is great steel.

I have 2, one is like the pic but in maroon.

I paid $29 each from CDNN in Abilene, Texas

Tell that to the genitally-challenged peabrain who pulled a gun on me in traffic, 2 days ago in LaPorte County, Indiana…

He didn’t like being honked at for almost clipping my SUV. I laughed at the little .380 he was waving around, and asked him if he thought he was the only one with a gun.

He sped off, but not before I got his plate and called the police.

Glad you are OK.

Not sure that creaton even has a brain. He is the type that give gun owners a bad name. Perhaps on day he will drive down to a place like Houston, Texas and pull that stunt; no longer would he be muddying up the gene pool. Nothing against Texas or Houston, but they tend to take traffic altercations seriously there. 8)

Nice buy. I found mine on eBay, green and gold.

Priceless: Having the option to say that!

Here is a link for a guy who reviews a lot of very sexy knives.

Personally, I think Cx did the right thing, but this clip did immediately come to mind….

“DON’T DRIVE ANGRY!” Classic!
