It's a bit hard finding 18650 holders. I got these,
http://www.virtualvillage.co.uk/5-x-rechargeable-18650-3-7v-lithium-battery-case-holder-006310-012.html
but they are a bit on the long side - I need to stick a 2mm thick magnet on the end of each 18650 to get reliable contact.
If you want to balance charge you need to make up a balancing harness as well - the simplest way is to buy a balancing lead extension and cut off the female end. I 5think i got my cables from eBay but HobbyKing probably have them.

Im charging/ discharging now at 500 mah.
results
1. 632 MAH
2. 632 MAH
3. 582 MAH
4. 618 MAH
Disappointing as claimed capacity 1250. Another dx scam.

Same company I think. Though I think mine were posted in the UK - they certainly arrived much faster than most HK stuff

Hi All,
First post here.
More capacity data on these Vapex AAA 950 mAh LSD. (Already tested by old4570). Sourced from ebay.
Out of packet (0.5A disch):
1) 128 mAh
2) 372 mAh
3) 0 mAh
4) 762 mAh
Charge/Discharge at .5A
1) 869 mAh (91.47%)
2) 910 mAh (95.79%)
3) 861 mAh (90.63%)
4) 868 mAh (91.37%)
Measurements from Maha c9000 (6mths old)
So broadly in line with old4570 results.
I wouldn't want to rely on these straight out of the packet!
I am interested to see if they have poor LSD or if the original prepacking charge is the cause of the wild differences in capacity out of the packet.
I enjoy the site.
Cheers,
Tim

Thats it!
I also tested the AA Maxuss 3000 mah batteries. About 1750 mah. But I had recharged them 2 times so they are not new. Don't buy them http://www.dealextreme.com/p/maxuss-1-2v-3000mah-ni-mh-aa-rechargeable-batteries-2-pack-7729

I got an 8 pack of eneloops from an OZ seller. Came in a clear packet- no label or anything. They look legit as far as I can tell. Currently discharging straight out of the packet.

Maha c 9000
Button top
Length 50 mm
diameter approx 14mm. sorry dont have a digital caliper
Very poor performance against claimed capacity. I wonder if they are re badged 2400 or 2000 or are they equally poor performers.

I have some ready to use Varta aa 2100 and 2500. I will not post results as they are not new and have been "cooked" a few times on the 15 minute charger. I noted that the 2100 has been charging for almost 3 hours and the capacity was 2400 mah and climbing. The battery felt overly hot so I stopped it charging. I'll buy a new pack and test soon.

Soshine 1100mAh Ni-MH Rechargeable AAA Batteries with Case (4-Battery Pack) from http://www.dealextreme.com/p/26987 ($6 shipped), non LSD
La Crosse BC-900 charger. Brand new cells.
Charger Test mode results: 1022 1007 1035 1050 ma (charge 500 ma, discharge/measure capacity at 200 ma, recharge at 500 ma, cool down)
2nd cycle 500 ma Discharge mode results: 1050 1066 1078 1096
I think these are pretty good numbers for inexpensive AAA cells, and they are nicely consistent across the 4 cells. They also get good reviews on DX. They arrived almost 100% discharged.

Some Pisen AAA's arrived a short while ago , also some 18650's [ Sanyo - Samsung ]
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/pisen-hr11-45-1-2v-800mah-ni-mh-rechargeable-aaa-batteries-2-pack-18316
Well , look nothing like the picture .. 800mAh capacity claim , Pre charged claim , and low self discharge claim , Since its in Chinese ???
Will discharge first , then charge and re-discharge from being fully charged .
Out of the Packet : Discharged @ 500mAh
1/ 680mAh
2/ 688mAh
Ok charged them up , and then discharged again at 0.5A
1/ 793mAh
2/ 804mAh
Those are pretty decent numbers but who knows how they'll hold up over time.

Just got this one in , Sanyo 2600mAh capacity .. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370406814898&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_2220wt_905
Discharged at 0.5A to 3v .. Now some manufacturers say you can discharge to 2.75 or 2.5 Volts under load ..
Anyhow , the hobby charger stops at 3v under load = 2433mAh to 3v ..
Being Sanyo there is no protection circuit ..
