1000 Lumen CREE XM-L T6 LED Flashlight Torch Light Lamp Meritline $12.99 or $9.09

Rusty, all specs are almost the same, so I wouldn’t trust what they say :expressionless:
I bought that “HD2010” because of the pics  For that price - I’ll take the risk  (but… keep my fingers crossed just in case  )

coupon MLC810WN doesnt work any longer? ;)

Those who ordered from them before, please, can you tell me if they update item status online or not? Ordered 5 days ago and still nothing :expressionless: (Step 2 of 4: Pending Payment - We have not yet received fund to release your order for shipment.)

Yes, they do. I got an email, that my flashlight is sent out and this is also online available.

Wanting the new XP-G2 for SolarForce 2Lm.
Where to purchase?
Thanks.
a few months back asked what would be new in
2 years and Wow It looks like something is here
already, the XP-G2.

Also received an email today informing me that it is out of stock and will be delivered most probably on 08.17 when they will restock. My order was placed on 08.10 and I manged to use the coupon.

I ordered on 8/10/12 also and mine is showing pending payment in the order status

Welcome aboard, Aldrevopa!

Is this flashlight really 1000 lumen?

@f42: It pretty much depends how well it is driven. If it is somewhere near 3A, 1000 lumen are possible (at least OTF), but probably it is more like 600 lumen.

I ordered it on the 12th of August, and so far I didn’t recieve any notification.

Take a look at your spam. My email notification ends there.

Okay I got mine today. THANKS to BLF, I always check mine over especially to make sure everything is okay, and in this case, it was NOT okay. The star foolishly is held in place by pressure from the reflector. The pill cannot be screwed down all the way or the reflector does not press the star against the pill. I know it sounds weird but you’ll see what I mean when you get yours. My pill was screwed in all the way, so the reflector was NOT pushing the star down so it was floating without touching the pill. So if you turned this on without fixing the floating star, I would imagine (as I have done in the past) you would see some smoke and by the time you figured out what it was, the emitter would toast.

Fix is pretty easy. Just pull the pill. They used like a 1mm drop of thermal grease (NOT thermal adhesive/plaster) so the star pulls away from the pill spontaneously without the needed reflector pressure . Wipe the grease off. (This is what I did anyway. Maybe someone else has a better idea.) Added a small glop of fujik. (Probably have to pop the driver to get the pill out enough to really do a good job with the plaster.)

Put the pill back in, but don’t screw it down all the way. Maybe two turns up on mine. Put delrin spacer on top of star. Reinstall the reflector so that it pushes down on the star and holds it in place. I assume I can screw the pill all the way in once the fujik dries? Will it hold a balky star by itself? I’m afraid that the reflector might melt or deform from the star heat.

Mine’s all fixed now. Takes a while to get warm, but it does eventually. Looks pretty bright but I need to wait until dark. Sorta like a C8?

Anyway, don’t turn the light on before you fix that loose star, or I would think the emitter will toast and you’ll have a nifty host instead of a flashlight.

Hope this helps.

As I said, I may have done something wrong here. This is just the way I fixed it. There may be better ways. I’m only a few months new to all this flashlight stuff.

Not in my case. I’ve sent them an email one week later. They told me that it was sent already and changed my status directly to “Shipped”.
If everything is OK my HD2010 should be here next week :stuck_out_tongue:

Mine shipped about a week or so after ordering. Received it on 9-8-12.

HD2010 is unreal! Wow it throws great and it is super bright! Blows anything I have away at distance! WOWZZZERS!

>>>>>Aluminium melts at 660°C.

Hahhahhah! I wouldn’t worry if the reflector was aluminum, but mine is genuine chromed Chinese plastic.

And just as I feared, the heat did cause the chrome to fall off the reflector where it contacts the white delrin spacer on top of the star, so that’s why I used the Fujik. Now the Fujik is holding the star in place (and NOT the reflector pressure), and I can back off the reflector just a hair so it’s not in direct contact with the hot star. Hopefully this will stop the heat from further loosening more chrome plate. Can’t screw the reflector too far out because that will screw up the spot focus.

Since the heat caused the chrome to fall off the plastic reflector, I thought it wouldn’t take much more heat to loosen the chrome plate in the actual reflector dish, which is only a few millimeters from where heat has caused the chrome to fall off. Once the chrome falls off even a small part of the reflector dish, a damaged reflector will pretty much kill the light.

I agree that this isn’t the best way to hold the star in place. Is there some better way to do it without Fujik?

>>>>>>Fujik has a higher thermal conductivity than normal silicone, but it’s still a lot worse than non-silicone thermal compounds.

I was told to use Fujik to hold balky stars in place by BLFers on several other lights in other threads. Should I have used something else? The grease isn’t enough to hold the star in place.

I have several lights with funky white rings on top of the star. The white ring did not exert enough pressure to keep the star in place. No other choice but to use a thin layer of Fujik to hold the star in place. Unless there’s another trick? Without the Fujik to hold the star in place, one star was smoking in a sipik — and one in a Ultrafire roasted and died.

For this light, you could screw the reflector all the way down and skip the fujik (or equivalent), but I still think the heat will deform the cheap plastic reflector or cause the chrome plate to fall off the plastic reflector. Of course, I could be wrong and erring on the side of being too safe. I have a tendency to do that a lot.

Have you got a c8 with an aluminum reflector? If so, why not see how it fits, I picked up two for about $8 might be better than worrying about the plastic one.

If it does fit, shoot us a pm, I’ll post you one if you like? Their supposed to be xm-l reflectors, but my c8 xm-l conversion has ground to a halt in favour of fitting the u2/driver in an edc host.

>>>>might be better than worrying about the plastic one.
.

A great idea. I’ll check when I get home!

Although this isn’t a very good light so I don’t know if I want to spend any money on it … But a couple bucks should be okay.

How many of you guys actually recieved your C8?

I ordered it on 8/12/2012 and it still didn’t arrive. In the past weeks I had intense email contact with meritline, they asked me to wait and wait even more. Then they offered refund or replacement, and I choose replacement. Then they asked me to wait another week due to a delay because of a Tayfun (…). Now I wrote them another mail, and instead of sending out another item, they sent me the money . . .

I think it was a nice offer, but I won’t buy anything from their store again . . .

>>>>>>I think it was a nice offer, but I won’t buy anything from their store again . . .

Sorry to hear your expreience was so bad.

I am +NOT+ defending Meritline. Just describing my own experiences. WAY BEFORE BLF, I thought (wrongly of course) that meritline was the be-all of cool flashlight distributors, before I knew the diff between a Q5 and a high-five. Fortunately, this didn’t last long because their selection isn’t that great and many times their prices aren’t that great either. But I probably bought all-told maybe 15 lights from them. One didn’t arrive and two were DOA, not a very good percentage.

BUT having said that, my CS experience was some of the best next to ebay sellers with high feedback (99.5% +).

They have a warehouse or some presence near me in L.A., calif. They asked for the return of the broken lights to this L.A. address. No prob. Couple bucks return postage. You take the risk of having to return the item and having to pay for the posatge when you buy mail order. Replacements came quickly from China and worked fine.

Now as for the missing light, I waited for two months before contacting them. I think there was something somewhere buried on their site about it could take up to two months for items to reach the U.S. Ridiculous, I know …. Anyway, they got back to me via e-mail (as always) within hours and said it was lost in the mail after two months. No quibbling or posturing for more time. Woman asked whether I wanted a replacement or money back. I wanted the replacement and then about three weeks later it arrived.

Once again, I’m not defending them. Just saying that my CS experience was nothing less than stellar. Oh, whoever I was dealing with could write perfect English. This wasn’t a translation program.

Having said all this, some of their no-name lights are cheaply made (now that I know better). Then again, I have a meritline no-name 19.95 2x18650 zoomer that is the brightest 2x18650 zoom in my arsenal. I wish it had a name on it so I could find another.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience.

I have been waiting for a drop-in from manafont now for 5 weeks. Other newer manafont orders have come and gone, so I’m sure it’s lost. I dread having to deal with them about a replacement.
