I was searching around for the LD01 R4 on it’s own but the best price was like $33 shipped, so I figured I might as well by the combo pack for an extra $3 and just split the lights up.
Damn, dude! Only $10.18?!? That’s the steal of the century!!!
I’ve had very good luck so far with the R4 LD01’s. There tends to be a hint of green around the corona every once in a while (especially on low—on high there is no distinguishable green), but I’ve yet to see any poorly-centered emitters.
My main LD01 R4 was actually cherry-picked last Christmas when I bought 4-5 of them to give out as gifts. I decided that since I was the only one who cared that I might as well get myself the pick of the litter before gifting the others out.
Thanks for sharing, I can confirm your observation. Here and there some units would have some minimal hint of green (even on hi if it's not so minimal, yikes) but the overall tendency is that on hi there is no distinguishable green by the naked eye. My cherry-picked unit "looks pure white" on Lo, Med, Hi .. similar to my P1A. Amazing tint!! However, this absolute visual perception changes if you do a relative comparison to a "really untinted" light, e.g. the purplish CW of a Klarus MiX6. No doubt, with a cherry-picked LD01R4 tint, the white-looking tint of the light is one of its Premium points (plus the throw and turbo brightness and runtimes and build quality and etc. haha).
It is a light for serious, even semi-professional use. No joke, toy, or cheap stuff. Good luck with the E01 sale!
the above stuff complements my array of flashlight holders. the best of all is the Table Clamp from Ebay if i had to choose just one product. I also like my original Joby Gorillapod Magnetic .. but it is beaten by the table clamp because the latter has a swivel ball and is very very strong built, for professional serious use.
