XP-G R5 prices at KD down $1

I noticed today that the price of XP-G R5 LED's at KD is down $1 from last week. I should have been able to predict this since I bought one of them last week at the higher price. $9.66 now on either a 14mm or 20mm board.

Thanks for the tip! That's a nice trend.

6 Euros here + P&P which is reasonable within the EU. 5 of them would be 35 euros incl P&P within the EU.

6 euros each on a 10mm PCB. Tempted.

Kai listed a new XP-G R5 today on a black board and gave the tint (I'm pretty sure thats what they mean when they say 1C). 1C is just a cool white tint which is what I'm assuming the other one is too.

I was thinking you could do a group buy from Cutter like I am in on (4 of us splitting 10 LED's) which could come out cheaper than Kai with a (potentially) nicer tint to boot, but I guess you get all kinds of duties associated with something like that. And people scream and holler about taxes here . . .

I don't need to worry about that. Tint?

I get what I get.

They can't be as green as the one I want to replace.

The ones KD sells are listed as WC tint, which isn't my preference. I actually like green tinted ones because to me they look warmer. The WC tint to my eyes almost always look a little bluish and while I used to like that when the whole Xenon HID car headlight craze made bluish/purple light seem cool, I've found it to not be so useful outdoors. At least since the human can see the most shades of green, to me green seems more useful without having the need to go to an actual "neutral tint" version which actually looks kind of yellow. DX usually sold WG tinted Cree LEDs, but they have yet to sell XP-G emitters.

The 5B1 neutral tint R4 XP-G's I got from Cutter were just about perfect, I think. They have a somewhat yellow-ish tint that picks up green quite well, but don't take a big hit in brightness and weren't that expensive (35 cents more than the regular XP-G). 4Sevens is doing some warm white XP-G's but they are only Q5 and will be very orange I'm thinking. However, I was at Cutter's website this weekend and they were out of 5B1's. People say the CRI still isn't that great with Cree's, but I don't know what you can really do about that.
