Help me pick a multiple XML emitter flashlight that uses a single 26650

I’ll be watching for the details on this one!

or will it be for sale, or both?

GIVE DETAILS! DO YOU KNOW HOW CRUEL IT IS TO LEAVE US IN THE DARK!

Now I’m just sitting here wondering if I should put more money in my paypal… :frowning:

The battery life would be horrendous

Side switch w/ lockout. Shooting for 1500 OTF. Very good heatsinking no cheap dropin design. 18650 battery tube is a possibility.

Assuming a 3*xml with each driven at 2.5A, that would be approximately 30 minutes on high for a single 4000mAH cell. That would be acceptable to me as long as it also has a medium 600 lumens and a low~100 lumens mode. Or else it could have cells in parallel. I just don’t want to have cells in series where you would be well advised to balance the cells periodically.

One other option is using sealed AGM lead acid batteries. But since I posted under the 26650 topic . . .

SOLID Jason!!!

Also looking forward to your single emitter design too!!

Multi XM_Ls with a single 26650 or18650 will not be good you need multi cells.

You should get the Sky Ray King. Which has 3 XM-Ls and takes 3 18650 batteries.

Not true. The 18650CGR can do 10+ amps discharge without sweating. IMR cells should be able to handle any 3-up draw needed.

ElectroLumens BigBruiser is a 3XML beast that runs direct drive on one 26650. It’s over the origional posters budget. I just mentioning it because it is an awesome amount of light off one cell

Are you making more than one ?

It’ll be for retail. If you look at it hard enough you’ll know what brand it is (kinda obvious since it’s a 26650). It should be for sale only through my company since it is my project. I want this to be a good reliable work light, not a 10 minute toy light so we’re not going for 3000+ lumens for 5 minutes.

Keygos 7x XML with driver mod :crown:

Looking at it again, I don’t know the make. But I like the description, and 1500 lumens means it’ll have a runtime of an hour or more. Will you be starting a thread here?
My only Tri-XML light is the HD2010 type with the dropin, which would probably go Paf if left on for more than a min or two on high

Edit: I just realized who you were Jake, gosh I’m slow today. :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t count on it, with voltage sag, especially under that kind of load you might get 10 minutes till dimming sets in, though it will still be damn bright for a while, just not at full power

Hi Chicago, Jake, et al

Having been carefully studying batteries lately, I can confirm the 10amp comment about the Panasonic CGR18650CH. And keep in mind that the 26650s will do over 15amps (even though protection should set in at or below 15).

Best Regards,

-Bob-

By the way Jake, I for one find the “teaser posts” totally titillating – but seriously, they’re not only interesting but they represent a “win-win” for you and BLF members. Maybe someone was about to buy a “toilet plunger light” and now you’ve saved them by announcing a light that will have comparable performance (or even better) with a better form factor and at a price that’s not a tremendous amount more dear.

Please don’t be offended. Under normal circumstances, in a uniformly well-mannered crowd, taking offence might be justified – but this is a diverse group – lots of different backgrounds, many different ages, etc – and it’s relatively common for people to “go after each other” if for no other reason, just ego.

Please continue to post. As I said, it’s a “Win-Win” for all of us, and you too!

Best Regards,

-Bob-

do you have a est. price yet?

I have no clue what the price will be. I wanna put this between $70 and $90 but nothing is for certain.
