Back in Black - SST-90 4D Maglite "Shower Head" Aspheric build.

I think they are sold at Tractor Supply in the US

Yep, TSC in the US, along with a whole bunch more. The showerhead is in the middle left here:

OK, thanks.

Don’t see them on the TSC site, for Canada or the US.

Anyone have a part number ?

I don't think the website shows everything the local stores have. Some people said they carried the Ampro 3AA light (here at Amazon) but I never found it at the store or online.

I don’t have a part number. It’s in most stores, but not all stores and it does not show on the website. I have found that type of thing before with TS. If I get by there soon, I will get the part number, if they have any.

I can tell you it's 100 led and takes a 4AA battery holder.

More photos in post one. It's going slowly.

Does the head come apart easily ?

Couldn’t tell you. I haven’t bought one yet but have always been tempted.

If you were left on an empty island with a Tic Tac and a pack of Gum
you would be dangerous,

I can’t wait to see this.one

Updated photos in the first post.

I would imagine one could do that, with a 50mm aspheric. It’s been done with other leds and most likely someone has already done that.

The SST-90 is addictive ……

It would be really nice to have all of OL`s thread into 1 thread as an overview.

Im not saying to put all the info in it,

but more towards a list with links like this:

1. How to make rings into the mag-body by using files (link)
2. How to make grooves into the tailcap (link)
3. How to make your own battery carriages. (link)

Because after a while, it gets a bit difficult to actually find the info you were looking for.
Just an idea for someone with loads of time!

More photos posted in the first post.

I know this wouldn't let you adjust the focus but couldn't you just glue the head onto it? As long as you glued it in the right position that would work well.

Justin, pretty impressive so far. I really like the idea (and need to visit TSC now) and want to see this project of yours completed.

If you want, send me the pieces and I can machine them for you...no worries.

Sounds to me like you’re looking at getting a lathe. There are people like me who would be willing to do simple machining work for a song. Boring the head and cutting 20TPI threads? It’s an hour of work. Pretty simple stuff.

Match and PCC, thank you both!

When I figure it out, I may be contacting one of you.
