Interested Jason… Nice to see this coming full circle.
That prototype was a nice, well made light for sure. I like the price target, definitely under-cutting the TM31. Double the lux of XML lights like the HD2010, and STLV2. I think the less you can sell it for the more CPF and BLFers will rave about it.
The 3.4A Stanley fatmax, and Defiant spotlights I brought that night did about 75-78K, and they were about $80-90 builds. So youre light here takes it up a notch.
I wished for this the second I asw the TN31. Now that someone made it I kinda feel guilty…. I’m sure the guilt will leave once I have the funds to buy one
I’m not sure why anyone is saying this light will throw XXX meters. I have the light in my hand, I have gathered my data and I shared it accordingly. I never made any mention of max distance in the OP or in any of my replies.
Luvlites: That is not my post. I never made any claim on max distance. We all know Chinese manufacturers embellish the data. Even Thrunite claims 700m and the TN31 does not achieve 120k lux. Why am I being nailed to the cross like this is the first time some data has been embellished?
Like I said, I have this light and I have gathered my own data and presented it truthfully. I was hoping that would be satisfactory for you guys. :~
Not trying to nail anyone to a cross. It looks as if that light’s a quasi TN31 clone and the graphic in post #8 does look like the same light you were posting about so wanted to quantify the throw, that’s all.
P.S. I have a TN31 and mine is pretty close to120k (112k).
Edit: Not knocking the light either. I’d be interested in one at around $100.
I’m pretty sure I know who you’re talking about. But I do agree with you. A light with 53k cd won’t be able to identify something at ~900m. Unless maybe in a vacuum?
Jokes aside, this new light looks pretty solid for 80k lux. If you can dedome and fortify the heatsinking (like saabluster did) you will not only make the tint close to NW, but you’ll also double the lux numbers (but decrease lumen output by about ~35%).
