Review: Trustfire Mini-01

That was quick
What type of cells have you tried in the Mini so far?

I got the IMR’s from Flashaholics in the UK. They were the closest place to me that had them in stock.
If you google AW IMR 16340, you should come across plently of Vaping sites selling them that might be nearer to you.

Like I said, I think every flashaholic needs this one in their collection.

I picked mine up from the same seller, 10 days to door from payment date!!

Man, you guys are killing me! I would have had mine by now.

My keys got snagged in my pocket, and when I yanked them out my mini01 fell on the floor. It came off the keyring holder at the attachment point. Maybe a fluke, but watch out for it.

:open_mouth: Did it hit the floor hard? I hope it survived anyway?

The Mini-01 has a bit of weight to it when it has a cell in it. The supplied key ring is too weak imo.
I swapped mine when it arrived and put a lanyard on it. I don’t carry it on my keys, it just sits in the pocket and can be easily found and pulled out with the lanyard.

Does anyone of the lucky Mini-01 owners know, how high the charging current of the Yezl 16340 cells can be?
So far I only have the intellicharger i4 …

It fell in the car. Little thing was hard to find! I put a ring off an old micro mag on it. Hopfully it holds up better.

Ok, that’s not too bad then. The mag key ring will hopefully last better.

As for charge current for the Yezl cells, i’m not sure to be honest. I would think they are like most other 16340 cells. I saw mention of 16340 charge current in a HKJ review where he described 600mA current being just within range for a 16340, and the IMR 16340’s can be charged with upto 1.5A.

For Yezl cells, actual test figure is 704mAh

Sorry, i wrote that wrong. I meant 600mA charge current, not mAh :zipper_mouth_face:

so far, ive only tried the white trustfire cells that came with it, some blue ultrafire cells, and the extream beam cells.

i will google aw imr but i just didnt wanna buy from a seller that sells fake ones. so i was just seeing if someone can recommend me a good seller.

not sure if this has been posted, but i found a way to get momentary for the mini.
just turn on the mini, and back turn it off ever so lightly…just a 1/8 turn or so.
now when you press the tail cap, it should have a momentary switch. i found this to be a neat lil feature now. so if i needed light just for a quick second, instead of having to twist to turn on, i can push the tail cap in.

I think Oveready sell the AW IMR’s, or there is a sales thread on Cpf.

The momentary sounds interesting, I’ll have a go later.

Cheers
Matt

The momentary trick is neat

Lighthound also sells them.

I love my mini-01, and hence try not to use it too much in case it stuffs up (despite a spare on the way). I am a big fan of momentary tho (wish more lights had em), nice find!

 I know what you mean, but maybe once the 2nd one arrives it will be easier to use

lol, true that
