KEYGOS M10 26650 FLASHLIGHT-Quick and dirty review

I love my M10. Great beam, very white light and hardly any noticeable rings.

But when I opened the top, I found that mine had a U2 rather than a T6 led as specified. I actually prefer the U2 for this type of thrower light because it’s brighter and throws further.

I am just wondering if others who bgt this light also receive a U2-led light? Reason i am asking is because i am thinking of getting a second M10 and wondering if i need to go back to the same seller to get an U2-led or if any seller would do (since the seller quoted by astodut is quite a bit cheaper).

I don’t like bezel so I finished with sand paper ( 1 hour :stuck_out_tongue: )

Middle >> POK 3040mA + XM-L T6 3C
Right >>> KeyGos M10 3040mA + XM-L U2

These pics make me wanna buy them again…… :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s certainly not conclusive but the star had a label - see below photo:

To be sure, the Keygos M10 is whiter/brighter than any of my 4 other XM-L lights - all of which are supposedly T6. In any case, the Keygos manufacturer wont have any reason to fake the label since the light is advertised as a T6 anyway.

BTW, did others have the same label as mine? Seems like Pok has also classified his M10 as a U2

Nope, mine come with the star alu like your pic but wrote only “XML” (your pic wrote “XML-U2”)

I change to XM-L U2 from fancyflashlights.

I have just ordered the Keygos M10. Can someone confirm that the TrustFire Protected 18650 will fit this flashlight.

This is the battery I want to order:

It should do, but why not order with the keygos cells? They seem pretty good to me.

I hope m10’s do start coming with xm-l u2 emitters, I’ll be ordering another if so.

Welcome to the cool kids' club, carlo_light!

Hey Everyone. Just spent about 8 hours of my Sunday reading though the various posts on this forum. I must say I’m impressed with the info available here.

I just got a TechLite Lumen Master 200 from a friend. I realize this little guy is a $7 flashlight from a 3 pack but I really liked it. I use the word liked because the driver broke as I was trying to modify it to fit an 18650. (I broke a trace trying to remove the metal contacts that connect to the case. It was late :~ )

Because I am so cheap, and actually enjoy trying to get something great for less I am looking at the Keygos M10. I figure that with the way these lights are going that getting into a 26650 to begin with isn’t a bad thing. Because it also accepts 18650s I can be frugal and pull those out of laptop batteries if I need to.

It is important to me that I get a light that tail-stands. I live in Central Asia and am often without power. This light will serve to light up a room for me just about as much as anything. That is why I steered away from the Balder SE-2, which was looking very promising.

I’ve looked around everywhere and can’t find any info on how many lumens this light has for high, medium, and low. Does this light have memory? Can I go straight to low if that is what I was using last? Also, I can’t find any run times for either an 18650 or a 26650 at any of those settings. I’m honestly more interested in knowing the run times for the lower settings since that is what I would probably be using for long duration uses.

Also, if you have any suggestions for something else that I should consider for a first and only light then please let me know.

I’d appreciate any help you can give a new guy.

I can’t give you lumen ratings or exact run times, but my m10 on low will give adequate illumination for a long time on the supplied keygos cells. I also have a couple of inr 4000mah cells that it seems to like. Yes it tailstands, with the very good lanyard fitted. I can’t recommend this light enough.

+1, possibly one of the best all round lights around. Compact and versatile, well made, looks and feels great in the hand, works well. Good balance of throw and spill.

I too recommend the kit with the orange Keygos 26650 cells and charger. There may be better cells, but that is a great package for the $ and I find them more than up to the task.

@d-ech,

Welcome to BLF!

On yr memory question, my M10 does not hv memory but it DOES always start on HIGH which is very useful because it means that you can always get to any of the 3 brightness levels without ever seeing the blinking modes

Get the m10 - you won’t be disappointed - it’s my favourite xm-l light (I have 5), great beam, good threading, perfect size, versatile battery - 18650, 25500 and 26650

Welcome to your new home, d_ech!

I believe my M10 came with a U2 led (see my post above).

In any case, I have just ordered another M10 from the same seller - “cyberport888” - even though the seller referred by astodut (“devicetwo”) is selling at 20% cheaper - in the hope of getting another U2-led M10. Before buying, I tried to confirm it with the seller but he had difficulty understanding my query so I decided to just take the risk and hope I get another from the same batch.

I just received yesterday the 2X18650 parallel headlamp from ebay advertised as XML T6. When I took it apart, the star has XML-U2 on it. Maybe the Chinese makers are running out of T6 LEDs and naturally progressing to U2s. Maybe its just printed on the star and is a T6.

Does anyone know how to tell for sure?

If you have an accurate Lux meter, something like an integrating sphere, and an actual Cree XM-L U2 bin, then you could do tests to see if the outputs are similar at certain drive currents.

if not, then you can’t tell.

I’ve got one of the M10s coming in. If it’s really good, I might keep it as is.

The Keygos M10 is about as bright as my C8, about the same price, but the build quality is much better. Throw is about the same and costs about the same. Takes the 26650 so longer run times. Here is a link to the light direct from Keygos.

I also have on order the KE-303, includes intregral charger, and home and car power supplies, no need to remove the battery.

Got an m10 today ….
!!

So Im just about to dip me toes in the murky waters of 26650s, and was wondering if anyone out there owns and a Keygos M10 and a Intl Outdoor’s Cyclone c88???

Am interested to know how these two flashlights comepare.
I have narrowed selection down to these flashlights. The HD 2010 has just been scratched due to throw not being my primary concern.

My 2nd M10 arrived today. This one only stated “XML” instead of “XML-U2” on the star (see post #134 above). Unfortunately, I couldn’t compare the 2 side-by-side because the switch on the newer one was defective. Found out when I swapped tail-caps and it worked.
