DX have been using China Post for recent orders.........this may explain why.
Yes,apparently the are serious now, aren't allowed anymore , the last 14500 flame I bougt at DX are in the mail now, registered trough China Post...left China 20 days ago not arrive yet... if send by HKP would be in my hands in 6 days...
Just ordered some 18650 ... Oh oh ! ....
my second to last order I ordered 4 18650's and 6 16340's and wondered why they were sent through china post..this explains why..my last shipment was through hkpost and there were no batteries in the order..at least we have china post to take the slack..takes longer, but better than nothing..
Some use Singapore Mail and I were thinking the suppliers were in Singapore :) Now I get it.
of four 18650s from DX were sent by HKP. The package left HK Feb 10.
I ordered Li-Ions from Manafont yesterday and got all the notices that the package was dispatched to the Post Office. Am I up the proverbial creek with no paddle or batteries?
So what do you guys recon? Should we start stocking 18650's? Do they have a half-life?
Doesn't it only restrict air shipping?
I think ground/sea shipping isn't effected by this.
But will take much longer if not by air mail.

i received a order of 16340s today
A lot of airlines still allow lithium-ion batteries, generally one installed plus one or two extras. If not, nobody would be able to bring their laptop computers anywhere because what are laptop batteries other than packs of 18650s?
good point..my camera uses a lithium battery pack also and so do a lot of cell phones..etc etc..
18650 in fact all Li-ion deteriorate over time .. If cheap 18650's dry up , its either surface mail ...
Or find some AAA or AA powered lights .. Push come to shove , id wait 3 months for a new supply of 18650's to arrive via boat .
!8650's are available locally , but @ $35 a cell , yeah , one battery $35 , they can eat my shorts .
It's quite a coincidence that I ordered 3 AAA lights and 2 AA lights last week :) Still looking for some good 2xAA light with neutral tint and good low modes. Fenix TK20 or LD25. Then I'll be safe. :)
I ordered several 18650's from a seller on ebay at the begining of January, they never came :(
On the plus side though I contacted the seller and they instantly refunded me the full amount and an appology that they didn't have any more in stock to send.
