If money were no object. If only!

Oops, you guys made me order a Zebralight H51 (no warm tint one was in stock at the moment) :)

$56 at HKEquipment.

That's a decent price - ZL sell them for $64.

I think they must be having a new batch made just now.

I've read your reviews on Manafont, Don. So, how do the UF-H2-3-4 family perform compared to a Zebralight? Magnetic base and infinite brightness setting sounds useful.

I find the H3 brighter, with a little narrower beam than the Zebralight. Since I am often using it in a very brightly lit office (Under the EU Optical Radiation Directive, I am supposed to warn people not to look directly at the lights - and it isn't as if they are a long way away - I can touch the ceiling and I'm not very tall.) where contrast is the real issue rather than lack of light (Or my eyesight) the extra brightness is a bonus.

At minimum brightness it is too low for me to be able to use it to read in bed - if my eyes were younger I think I'd have no problem but I do have to hold books farther away these days. The same is true of my H50 - it is easier for me to read in bed on medium. I'd have no problems using it in a dark forest on its lowest level though, I'd be able to see around me easily.

Since it comes on at the setting you last used it at, there is normally no messing around with switching it which is nice.

I have hardly ever used either with the clip - usually when i use that sort of light, I want to have both hands free so the headband is ideal.

HK started stocking the H51 less than a week ago. They dont seem to be carrying the Neutrals. GoingGear just upped their prices to 69.95 or something from 64.

Thats a good buy, let us know how you go. Sorry to drag you into this... haha.

This thread hit me more than it hit anyone :)

I just couldn't stop looking at Fenix'es and others. And I must confess, I did a very bad thing and just bought a Fenix LD25 (2xAA, R4 led) with neutral tint and an E10 (1xAA, Rebel Led) from a local dealer. No need to mention that Zebralight H51, Maglite XL100, iTP EOS A3 R5, Led Lenser (HK seller), and several others I ordered last week.

I hope I can use them in an outdoor env. one day, better not because of a shipreck or plane crash :)

At least you haven't ordered a V10R Ti

I haven't... yet.

I'm still looking for a magnetic ring flashlight. Maybe M20C R5 can fit the bill :)

Or a NaitHawk M.1

Edit: damn.. looks like I've already started the ball rolling on the M20C earlier with that thread...

All these torches taunt me.. My current Wish list... If money was ABSOLUTELY no concern. (very wishful thinking list)

1) ArmyTek Predator $99 (very programmable torch, choose to have any brightness level or disco, accessible via a selectable 1 up to 7 modes in 2 groups (head tight/loose). Very throwy high output, and neutral moddable!!)

2) Thrunite Catapult $149 (Just plain simple throwy with 2 modes, head tight/loose High/low. How does 40K lux at 1m sound?)

3) Sunwayman V10R Ti $128 (pretty, very easy UI, very low low to high high, nice all round smooth but somewhat throwy beam)

4) Sunwayman V10C (maybe.. when it comes out, unless the predator is soo awesome the ring isnt needed)

5) Jhanko D10 Ti with at least 12 trits $5-800 if ever available.

I thought we could do with more cringe videos.

armytek predator 01

My Mag-Lite XL100 arrived today. It is a shiny piece of quality, but looking a bit fragile after all those hard anodized, 2mm glass lensed muscle lights. The size of it just perfect for my hand and being so smooth in shape, I believe it is a very good design for a small shoulder bag or a coat pocket. The lens on the other hand looks like it will get good scratches from a key too close to it.

You know, there are many modes each controlled by orientation of the flashlight. Controls need just half an hour to get used to. The lights high is rated at 83lm, but there are roumors that its led is changed to a 100lm Rebel. I saw that a 100 lm is a very versatile value. The low is a really low, about 1-2 lm. The shiny smooth reflector helps the throw and it becomes a very balanced utility light. The light color is vanilla white, maybe just slightly whiter than a neutral Fenix but way neutral than a R2 or R5.

I liked it a lot but it may not be the ultimate light for outdoors.

Love the Nightlight feature! Not sure If i really like the tilt control yet though... Nice torch overall! Get the blue one?

Mine is a shiny grey one. Very nice in color. I were thinking the night light mode would completely turn the light off and that wasn't really a meaningful mode. But now I saw that it stays in a low low light mode and boost with the slightest touch/movement. This is much better.

If money were no object, I would probably move to a more expensive hobby, like cars. :)

You know this thread is simply to identify serious junkies .... these lights aren't taunting you .. you're doing it to yourself in 5 lights you hit about 1300 $ i spent less on a car 10 years ago and it still starts evry single day .. come on my friend .. step back from the ledge .. put the flashlight down before someone gets hurt ..deep breaths .. lets talk about you and cpf ... you're still going aren't you ?..we talked about this ...

LMAO

That was my last expensive hobby....I dropped @ $40k building the (imho) the ultimate street Mustang sleeper. It was purely for grudge racing, and fun...but not cheap. It's a fun car, but definately wasteful...I strongly doubt I'd do it again.

If I add up everything I've spent on torches, batteries, and modding components, I's still have a ways to go before coming close to the cost of one set of tires for that car...and the kicker is I'm enjoying this just as much (probably more...).

I've realized that for me, there's better uses for that kind of coin....so I'll happily stick to flashlights. Besides, I've yet to get one ticket from the police for having too powerful of a flashlight!

Me too; I would probably buy another Ferrari...

I buy what I think will work best for me and I don't care if it $1 or $1000.

BUT...

If money were no object I wouldn't need to buy any. I'd design, machine, and build my own.

EDIT: The Zebralights are fantastic. I'm EDCing a SC60w and its the best light I've had... period.

I like the way you think! and completely agree on the SC60.
