Review: UltraFire HD2010

Don’t forget to use the TMPRICE coupon code, if you haven’t already. 8% off.

Oh, thanks! I am not ready to do this just yet. Just glad they have the black in stock in the U.S. warehouse. WHen I order, I’ll check for the code. Thanks again!

Are all HD 2010 versions 5-Mode Versions ?

Good looking yeah, but after ordering I stumbled over a thread about Lightmalls selling Fake products :Sp

LightTake seems to have a 3-mode, but it’s Hi > Strobe > SOS, which is doubly ridiculous.

That’s not what i was looking for  What a bummer…

That’s a great price can you post the link to the Meritline version please and thank you.

I just got my hd2010 from Tmart today and got a chance to test it out tonight. Throws great and has a really nice beam but the tint on mone is a little on the purple side. My emitter is perfectly centered, but I have a white centering ring on my led, unlike the black one on most of the lights I see. I tested the current at the tail, and got 2.8 amps at the tail (3.1 amps with spring fully compressed) with a king kong 26650 at 4.12 volts. I soldered a 22 gauge wire from the driver to the tip of the spring, and did the same to the tailswitch and removed the spring cap. I then got 4.3 amps with the same battery. One thing I did notice is that although it is brighter for about the first 3 or 4 seconds, you can see the output sag after that. It is not the current dropping because I tested it and it did not move. I think it just overheats and drops output or is the driver doin somthin wacky.

Have a couple of copper pcb xml u2s and u3s on order, and will be dropping one of them in along with a 12 7135 driver and some heatsinking improvements.

Whoa! Look what the cat dragged in! Welcome back U_235! You've been away quite awhile!

Yeah, had some medical issues over the past months. Looking forward to getting back to playing with my lights! Just got some xpg-2s in and plan on modding a C2 with one soon.

D’oh, sorry, forgot to make a small review about my HD2010 from Meritline
Well, got it from them because of 30% off coupon. $25.89 instead of $36.99

Ok, it took about 3 weeks (ordered Friday, Aug 10th, received Monday, Sep 3rd). Not so bad for Singapore Post (with tracking, btw).
Came in white box, light was bubble wrapped. All this in normal, bubble wrapped orange envelope. But… look at that box! :open_mouth:
lol  When I saw it I thought my HD will be like sh*t.

Surprisingly, it was in perfect condition  Almost all bubbles were popped though  Man, any other, smaller thing, wouldn’t survive such a torture.

At a glance - everything’s perfect. Yeah, I found a pair of very tiny dents’n’chips (almost all HD have, unfortunately), a little bit rough corners… but again, for 26 bucks… really nice finish  It’s my first **fire brand

- Very grippy knurling.

- Not-so-even anno between fins.

  • Veeery clean reflector. Some small imperfections around the led, but it doesn’t affect the beam apparently.

- Clear crystal (almost), with small fingerprint on the edge.

- Clean threads, with no lube at all. Strange, but one of the o-rings was perfect, I mean, perfect size for that diameter :open_mouth: (haven’t dismounted the head yet)

- Well centered emitter. CW, spill is awfully purple

  • Adapter tube for 18650 is a bad cut piece of plastic. Will be always inside anyway, so no one will see it

As for driver - looks like the same driver all HDs have. Modes are spaced almost identically to my UF P60 drop-in from Manafont. No visible PWM in all modes  SOS mode starts with O (O-S-S-O-S-S-O-S…), but it’s still a true SOS mode.
UPDATE: no, I was wrong, it starts with S, i.e.: SO-OSO-OSO…
Currents? 2,4A (stock leads) with charged TF 2400 @HI, exactly same current my P60 drop-in has :expressionless: Couldn’t check currents at MED and LOW, light started to flicker (someone already reported this behavior before, if I remember well).

A few pics for comparison. Beamshot was made with fully charged TF flames (overexposed though :frowning: my Samsung doesn’t have lower exposure and this thing throws like a monster!!)

To sum up: great light! Great thrower! :stuck_out_tongue: My first and, probably, last big thrower though. Quite useless for me, still prefer EDC size

Is your battery spacer just some white PVC? I just got mine from T-mart, and it’s just a rough cut little section. Not a big deal. However, mine does have memory for some reason and I hate it.

Yup

Same driver? Maybe a new batch? I still can’ get it, why those chinese markets sell flashlight with strobe and SOS  I think >90% don’t use them, so why bother?

Says East 092 on the bottom of the driver. And just to clarify- if I turn it off in low, and then turn it on- it goes to strobe (or whatever mode I turned it off on +1). This is memory right? Or is my light just broken? (or operator error somehow)

Mine has memory, but I think it’s only for a few seconds.

Mine has intermittent amnesia. LOL

Hi, I ordered a HD2010 from Tmart.com and after 10 days was here (Crete, Greece).
I am very happy for the flashlight, the price and the fast shipping.
Thanks Tmart!

That's usually referred to as "next mode memory" and personally I hate it. I'd rather it start back at the beginning sequence than in the next mode. I can't check for memory on my HD2010 as it's broken and still not fixed. (Really irritated at this as I hardly used it at all.)

No, that’s not “memory”. Mine does the same.
When you switch between modes, you half press the button. In that moment, switch is momentary off and than on again. Normally, it should be programmed for less than a second, but some “genius” make that short period too long  My HD has 2 seconds delay.

Mine arrived today from Lightmalls.

It is the black version.

Foy, you got yours in far BETTER condition than I got mine from this dealer.

I have never gotten a light so scratched, I have never either sold my used lights in that condition.

Has been probably in a pile of flashlights, packed using a showel.

Otherwise, seems to be working OK.
