Shadow TC750X

I just watched TC350, this moment :- )
They are all nice but I would love to try just 3 models TC750X (Double XM-L U2) over all, BL-21 (bike light), and JM07
P.S. do you have pictures for those two new models, can’t find them on Intl-Outdoor???

Wow, must be nice to live in china J)

Hi Jake, thanks for the heads up

I’m really interested in the shadow TC750X, but the 50% step-down after 3 mins in high is a real ball breaker. If there’s a way to mod it or remove the step down I would probably buy it…

I have the 750 and im impressed with the output. Its not as bright as SR King , although its a fair
comparison. Build quality is very good. A get a little battery rattle but not too bad. The twin U2
will drain two Panasonic’s 3400mah in 45 minutes . The best feature are the pitched reflectors and
the tight beam it forms…Price should continue to drop, i recommend this light if your looking at
at multi emitter lights.

just 45 minutes from 2 x 18650 (3400mah) on 50% (because it automatically reduces output to 50% after 3 min.) that is not impressive at all…
I was a little disappointed because of that “down shift after 3 minutes to50%” feature but I would buy it nevertheless, now I’m not so sure!!!
Looks very nice, but 45 minutes is just not enough. I can’t imagine what it would be if there is no downshift, it would suck up two batteries in 15 minutes!!!

DarkSide, did you write any review, posted pictures somewhere?

Wow only 45mins? Is the 3 minute step down working? Sounds like it must be driven hard…

I like. Although I’m very suspicious of that step down function raining on my party if I buy it…. :expressionless:

Hi darkside, can you share some information? Do you have a DMM for tailcap readings? Is the stepdown function working? It’s interesting what you’ve said, as the description online portrays a conservative runtime monster:

http://www.intl-outdoor.com/shadow-tc750x-double-xml-u2-1200lumnes-218650-flashlight-p-507.html

I’d be interested if it wasn’t softly driven.

A month is gone and still no news on this topic!!! :~

Indeed. Would be nice if those that have this flashlight, either by personal means or perhaps through dealership, would be able to share some information.

turboBB73 promised to do a review of this flashlight “soon”

It's here now but given it arrived with a bunch of other lights, it's in my review queue. I should have preview in the coming days but in the meanwhile, any q's just ask.

Cheers,
Tim

TurboBB, I’m really interested in any pictures of the dual head and its interior. It’s been at the back of my mind as a project light. Tc350 tube with a pair of 18350’s for one. If LED’s could be swaped out easily? Or the if the bezels are common to the SF thread pitch?

So you wanted a mini-Mjölnir? That's a pretty killer setup (you heard it here first, it's "texas shooter style" ) and I'm quite taken with it:

Two AW IMR 18350's while protruding out quite a bit just fit. However, with this setup, other than being a bit slimmer and tad shorter than the S-L3, it'd be at a disadvantage both output and runtime-wise. It's still pretty cool in this config though and I did verify output to be around 1200lms:

Last pic shows original config vs. XT20

There aren't any grooves in the bezel but I was able to remove it using the palm of my hand and some elbow grease. The lens and o-ring will fall right out with a gentle tap. The reflector however is either glued or screwed and I can't find a way to remove it:

The driver should be accessible but I don't have a tweezer small enough to open the retaining ring. The bezel is slightly bigger than for SF; bottom right pic shows a XENO bezel just inserted in and resting on top of the original bezel, it's too small to fit.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Tim

Well that did answer everything, thank you. I was hoping that they had D26 type dropins, but that was just asking too much. Though 2-2 amp XM-L’s sounds pretty good as is with the shorty option.

The XT-20 is P60 compatible. I'll bet you with a bit of prying the TC also is.

I wouldn’t be so sure, the 3 shadow lights I have lack pills, rather the emitter is attached directly to the host itself for superior heat-transfer.

i have the xt20 but was wondering how the numbers you got on the tc750x compared to it? higher or lower output? lux numbers? Im sure they are similar but just wondering if I should own both

Doing runtime now and confirmed the ~50% step down after 3 minutes. Output is ~1200+ lms but seems to use PWM even on H (just as with XT20 on both counts). Will grab lux later.

Thanks for the information turbobb, I’ve had my eye on this for a while. Stupid question, but I’m assuming it’s 1200+L before the stepdown? So it’s around 600L after?
