SOLD OUT! -- thank you -- 3 ounces of Nyogel 760G for $12, postage included -- U.S. only

I have 6 left and 9 sold. Thanks to everyone for buying !

Some people are just sending me PMs rather than posting here. That’s fine also.

I’ll post here when they’re all gone.

Thanks again!

Paid for one. E-mail sent. Posting to make counting easier.

Thank you!

I was a bit worried when I first read the title to this thread, thought that nyogel was some sort of explosive!

"I want a tube"

I bought a 2 oz tube of 760G from BatteryJunction.com one year ago for $15 + shipping, and I love the stuff and was highly recommended! It was the best price at the time I could find. So, 3 oz for $12 including shipping is a great deal. It's roughly 1/2 price.

Thanks!

Still have 4 tubes left.

All paid orders have shipped priority mail so buyers should receive their tubes o’ lube by this weekend. If you paid, you should have received a Paypal/USPS notification with tracking numbers.

If you pay for a tube today, it will ship today or tomorrow, depending on what time of day you pay.

Thanks again to everyone.

I am in for ONE. pm sent.

This is a decent price for BLF’ers, but aren’t you the individual that bought the last 16 tubes (14+2) - at $1.99/each - from the ebay seller seen here?

… or just coincidence?
He got them and he is paying for envelopes, stamps, gas, shipping time and address writing, pm’s, time, effort, and much more……

to investigate and find out that it is the same as nyogel, which is valuable info.

just an fyi, if you print postage labels at home (you can use usps click and ship), you don’t have to wait in line at the post office. you can drop them at the counter, or in a mailbox. it save a lot of time, at least here, where there seems to usually be a line at the post office.

Sent PP and within an hour I received my tracking number.

Talk about FFFFFAST service!!!

Thank you Ubehebe

Thanks …. Unfortunately for me, it’s not that simple. More than you ever wanted to know:

My nearest PO is about 30 minutes round trip and is the slowest PO ON THE PLANET. There is a “Leisure World” complex for oldsters a couple blocks away. They have to look at 1 million bleeding postage stamps to see what they want. (“Do you have any stamps with sea weed on them?”) OR show up with a 3-foot-high lamp and a basketball with NO packing. (“Can’t we get them in the same package?”) The PO staff essentially ends up packaging it for them. It drives me to utter distraction.

Yes, I can drop the packages on the counter there, but I usually end up in line anyway. I almost always get one International package it seems, including two for the nyogel to Canada. First-class international mail — the BANE of my existence — must be done at a PO window. International priority mail can be done online (which I do) and dropped off, but not IFCP.

And of course, inevitably, I get stuck behind either some CRETIN (who has unwrapped rusty snow chains going to Breadfruit, Burgazibar). OR some 1000-year-old hearing-challenged woman with an oxygen pack and a colostomy bag, who has to tell the “nice man behind the counter” about her recent lymph-node removal or her painful varicose veins in minute graphic detail.

I mean I’m no spring chicken, and I can understand their loneliness, but the PO is NOT a social club. Did I say arggghhghh? ;) ;) ;) ;)

But I am glad to do it. Other BLFers spend considerable time putting together the group buys and giveaways. It sounds sappy I know, but when you’re in a community like BLF, I firmly believe you need to give as well as take.

Fortunately, I am just here in the “low country” for a little while longer and then get to go back to Death Valley where my PO services 29 people, three tarantulas and one burro …. and is never crowded. I can’t wait. I have had enough of so-called civilization for a lifetime.

I gotta admit…. This made me laugh hard!!

I as well as many others appreciate the work and time you’ve put into this.
It is much appreciated!

Some may be getting their tubes o’ lube today or tomorrow. I just found out the hard way: DON’T SNIP YOUR TIP! I did and it was a mistake.

At first glance, the tube nozzles look like the kind (like a tube of caulk for example) where you snip off the whole top of the nozzle. Don’t. You’ll end up with a giga-NORMOUS hole blasting out a toothpaste-sized bead of Nyogel. That’s what I did and there’s no going back. Fortunately I had another nozzle I could substitute.

Instead, look closely at the tip of the tip. There’s a fairly tiny hole started at the tip. Push a common pin through to open it up. Try that and widen if necessary. Just remember that you can always make the hole bigger but you can’t go back and make it smaller once it’s too big.

I ended up using a 1.5mm tiny hex wrench to open up the hole. It still may be a little small, but maybe not. I’ll have to use it for a while and see. The pin hole without further widening DEFINITELY was too small.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip, Ubehebe! No pun intended.

Good to know…I would have cut the tip like a caulking tube!!

Thanks Ubehebe

Yeah, but that’s the thing… it’s a lotta’ effort with nominal - if any - monetary remuneration for the OP, and for those that desire only one tube, more expense…

Why not just post a DEAL ALERT with a link to the ebay listing - it’s not like those tubes were in high demand (the OP bought the only ones in all of Sept. out of the 31 offered since early July - two on 9/2 and fourteen on 9/14 - and the BLF’ers getting one tube would’ve paid less (according to the ebay shipping calculator in the listing, no more than $6.30 for USPS Priority Shipping = $8.29).

$8.29 vs. $12.00 and the OP would’ve still been regarded as a “stand-up” kinda’ member here at BLF - am I missing something

:quest: :quest: :quest:

Happy to see all the tubes have been sold and - as I quote from my post - “This is a decent price for BLF’ers”.

God Speed…

>>>>>>$8.29 vs. $12.00 and the OP would’ve still been regarded as a “stand-up” kinda’ member here at BLF – am I missing something

Here we go again, sigh.

I will say it for the THIRD time. The ORIGINAL price was a lot more BECAUSE of higher shipping, and I got him to drop it by buying all he had. He tried lowering the shipping on ebay first (the price you see now) to the agreed-upon NEW shipping charge, and THEN we decided that I would just buy the lot and he would bill me for the agreed-upon correct amount, after the sale (which I am now explaining for the SECOND time).

The shipping price now displayed on ebay — which you keep quoting and quoting and quoting and quoting and quoting — has NOTHING to do with the original shipping price, as I said before. It was his failed attempt at lowering the shipping so that when I bought the 14 tubes, I would be billed for the agreed-upon amount of shipping. You’ll see if you ever sell something on ebay, you can configure shipping so that the more you buy, the less you pay for shipping on successive items — which is what he was trying to do with the lower shipping price now displayed. But as with ALL things ebay, he couldn’t get it to come out to the correct total. So we decided that he would just bill me AFTER I bought all 14 tubes (explaining for the second time).

Like A LOT of ebay sellers, he was supplementing his original low $1.99 sale price with overly HIGH shipping costs. The shipping was NOT originally $6.30. Ebay bills a percentage of your sales price but charges NO percentage of your shipping. So many sellers — to avoid ebay’s ridiculously high fees — charge a really high shipping rate and a super low selling price. As you use ebay more, you will see that this is quite common. That was the case here.

This is absolutely the best I can do in explaining it. And I am NOT going to explain it for a FOURTH time.

I did not charge more than the original item on ebay; I charged less. That’s the point.

AIEEEEEE!

Is this stuff any different than your typical thread lube? I have a few jars of Jetbeam and EagleTac thread lube.
Or does this have a specific purpose?

>>>> I have a few jars of Jetbeam and EagleTac thread lube.

I am unfamiliar with those lubes.

My searching out Nyogel came from this thread:

I believe that there is also extensive discussion about Nyogel on CPF.

Hope this helps.

Very pleased @ how quickly I got it.

Also glad I came back here & read your post about the proper way to open the tube.

Thanx.This was a bargain.
