Fandyfire STL-V6( skyray thrower clone) substitute for only $26?

If you knocked the wires off you can simply resolder the wires. If you don't want to do that then that light should work. I have the trustfire x6 which uses the same host. However it does run off of 3 18650 not 2.

Actually I was eyeing this one too, but I think the host is of similar design, but the DX version is much smaller. 58mm head compared to the X6’s 80mm head

I meant the actually wires which go to the led die. I completely destroyed them when I lifted off the dome.

The uf-x6s seems to have a very similar, if not the exact reflector, as the stl-v6. I’m not sure if the 58mm listed on the site is fully accurate.

Head is only 58mm, V2 is 62. 5 mode where as V2 is only 3 and not nearly as bright but
does have a slightly smaller hot spot. I have been waiting for someone to come up
with a good 2cell driver to mod this and a couple of others I have. Yes I did get it to go
with my X6 but was a bit disappointed with it. Pretty good for the money but not quite
the quality overall of the V2. Hope this helps.

Wow the X6 is big. I love it! Thanks for the pictures mazdahatch, they were great

One other small thing with the quality of the UF-X6S was if you look at the front you will
notice that the cut-outs on the bezel are all uneven which annoyed me. Or maybe I’m just fussy.

Nothing compares to visual aids… That’s a perfect pic.

the smaller X6S and light to its right are almost clone copies of a Surefire M3lT…
I never realized how small and the overall shape is nearly identical…
I have an X6 on its way. Its a beast in size…Hopefully a driver swap will bring out its
potential…Nice pics

On the up side, it does have a glass lens and an aluminium reflector but the pill
does not contact much of the body at all. There is at least a 1mm gap between the
pill and body with minimal contact top and bottom. At the very least it probably be have to
wrapped like a P60 to be driven any harder.

Well that is quite the letdown…I thought this light looked promising but as always, price dictates….

I really appreciate the response mazda96hatch. I guess DX’s measurements are correct after all. I’m disappointed this light can’t match the stl-v2.

What made you doubt DX’s measurements in the first place, if I may ask?

I assume it is because people thought they were the same/similar hosts. Therefore the head diameter should have been the same.

DX isn’t always 100% accurate and the two lights seemed very similar in dimension. I have ordered the Small Sun ZY-T13, and considering it is only $24, I hope it is at least somewhat comparable to the FandyFire.

Welcome to the addiction, TrakTuned!

Doesn't help at all  (still waiting for my X6 to arrive...)

for $17 http://www.ebay.com/itm/CREE-XM-L-T6-LED-Zoomable-Focus-5Mode-1000LM-Aluminum-Flashlight-Torch-light-/360497984020?pt=UK_SportsLeisure_Camping_LightsLanternsTorches&hash=item53ef5ab214

Congrats on the buy, the T13 is an excellent light for the price.

All you need is a single 0.5ohm resistor mod for it to reach or surpass STL-V6.

By the way, you do know your STL-V6 emitter is easily replaceable, right? A T6 star is only about $4 shipped on Dinodirect.

+1

Replacing the emitter is easy and cheap

Its pretty easy probably takes longer to trar the light down then replace the led
