New Member, hoping BLF is better than CPF

The word is out and they have all finally been exposed! New discovery of hidden cpf moderator disciplinary training camp! Mistress Julia caught on hidden cam while training a new "cpf mod". The poor guy! BTW, where can I apply for this job? (with a gaurantee that Greta wont be my disciplinary instructor)

Since the CPF outage the other week there have not been a lot of new threads on the led lights forum. Other guys at work commented that they had gone off and found other forums and review sites and were happier with the crowd on the smaller sites.

I remeber a thread on CPF where a guy came on and said I've got $500-600 bonus from work , what should I buy light wise...and people were suggesting various stupid priced lights. I suggested he buy a $100 light and take his wife out for dinner... there were a minimal number of people who agreed the rest were focused on spending the equivalent of a months mortgage payment on a torch.

Anyway theres a lot of europeans on here and we 'get' Sarcasm --- Hey thats a great Surefire you got there how many lumens for $300... thats awsome dude !

Someone over there either seriously misunderstands COPPA or needs to adjust his or her meds. Anyway, welcome to BLF from me as well, motodeficient. :)

I was never much of a CPF regular and I used to mostly lurk there, but I can say with certainty that this is a much friendlier and more laid back place. I hope you enjoy yourself here.

OXY.. if you use one more acronym or abbreviation ... I'm going to murder you.

...Sorry... yeah Welcome to our friendly forum ....

Dang Boaz! Be nice now.

Don't worry, be happy....Smile

Hehe, yeah, sorry about that. It's a bit of a bad habit. I often read BLF on the go or while doing something else, because if I don't I always end up with a gazillion unread threads when I do have the time kick back. And that's where the acronyms come in. My bad. I'll try to be less cryptic. :)

And, for what it's worth, COPPA = Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.

A warm welcome motodeficient! I hope you can enjoy your hobby (habit) here with a lot less petty restrictions. As brted mentioned, most of us specialize in and prefer budget priced lights, but of course no legitimate flashlight is banned. And as for posting your personal details... You can post your age, address, credit card number, and social security ID for all I care, just please remember that BLF is utterly, completely, totally, undebatably, indisputably, inexorably and unconditionally free of liability despite any and all dreadful consequences that might ensue.

Thanks, its good to have a welcome straight from the Admin!

Fortunately we're still small enough for me to be able to do so. And since I'm not such an expert, at least I'm good for something around here. ;-)

Welcom Motodeficient - I too got disenchanted with CPF - but did not get banned as I stopped posting much over there when it became too strictly moderated. It just took the fun out of it. I think you will like it over here. I know I do!

...of the pictures shown here...they are known to cause insomnia, lack of appetite and stomach upset. Other than that, enjoy your time!

About 50 lumens, but, they are "surefire" lumens!

About 50 lumens, but, they are "surefire" lumens!

Yeah i too like this forum. I am not affraid of being flamed asking about cheap light, and buying one is stupid etc etc. For me the fun part is when you get a cheap light but performed beyond your expectation and finding one for me is an adventure, sure buying 100+USD light is cool but they have to be they are 100USD for god sake..

I just dont get it, all surefire this all surefire that it is almost like a religion, not everyone can justified a tactical-overly-expensive-military-tested 200+usd light. They forget that not everyone lives happy with their deep wallet, where i live most people are strugling to get a 200usd monthly income. For me a 10-30$ flashlight is all i need, even i dont mind the strobe and sos LOL.

I have 1300+ posts back @cpf (joined @2006) and found a lot of nice individual but then again the place becoming more and more for an elite people (with deep pocket) who buying expensive light and expensive custom is the only justfied couse. It just not a place for a budget minded people like me anymore. I am happy to found BLF to call home now.

I know i will not get banned here for saying that am i?

Best Regards.

No you won't be.... but Flashpilot maybe if he posts more of that pics. ;-)

I found that there can be quite a bit of snobbery on other various forums. What I like about BLF is that people are open to exploring lights (knives and other neat things too) of all brands, types and prices. I found that on some forums if you said you liked a light or knife that was under $20 that was not name brand you'd be heckled for saying so. Even though many popular name brand companies are making their gear in China, if you said you liked a Chinese flashlight or knife, you'd be taunted for saying so. BLF is a refreshing place to hang out and discuss things freely.

It's not exactly hard to get banned from CPF. Most regard this as a badge of honour.

Round here, we like all sorts of stuff. If it costs less than the brand leaders, so much the better!

Brands here aren't important.

If it is good; people will say so.

If it's garbage; they'll still say so.

And nobody is about to delete the posts.

I should know - I've posted more off-topic, irrelevant and general garbage posts here than anyone else.

I don't think I've already said hello, so welcome to BLF motodeficient.

Enjoy your time here. I do!

I hope that here @BLF our passion toward flashlight is not measured buy how much you spend on money.

So,i think you are better off here, and the post made you lofty tone here!welcome!

I think gonna like it here.. you need not be a loaded to have a passion.

Regards
