"Do as I say, not as I do"

I always cringe when I hear those words and I don’t believe that I have ever said them myself. If what you are doing is improper then show me how it’s done the right way so that I learn the correct way to do it. If what you are showing me is the right way then you shouldn’t have to say that as you are showing me how to do it.

As a 'visual learner,' I couldn't agree more.

Anything in particular responsible for the genesis of this thread?

Just venting. It’s job related and I’m still there so I won’t say more.

I watched a cool movie recently. It was about some fallen angels and such stuff. One of the bad angels was imprisoned for a few thousand years and when some people told him about God having a son, he said the exact same sentence we can see on top of this thread. I thought that was funny.

Hypocrisy is common, but there’s also a legitimate reason to warn others to of mistakes/pitfalls they’ve committed in the past.

For example, a smoker telling their kids to not smoke doesn’t mean it’s bad advice.

LOL.

One of the good things about self-employment is that I talk smack about the boss everyday with no repercussions...

He really is a jerk, BTW.
