Review: Crelant V9CS

great work

Butt on your way too being Great!
:crown:

just ordered a neutral off sb flashlights!

Nice pictures and review!

New DMM ordered today, hopefully I’ll be able to take some tailcap readings soon.

Great looking torch. Nice review CD, what meter did you get?

Only a cheapy one for now. Just want something that actually works, I’ll upgrade as and when.

Nice review. Thanks

You have nothing to apologize for….this was a great review.I really like how the UI of this lite works.By the way, I have acat with the same markings…besides yours,I haven’t seen another like her.I took her in as a local stray many years ago…although she is a bit bigger now(over-fed).Again……great review, thanks!

Great review, and nice looking light!!

Great review.
This light has regulated output with 1x18650?

You're going to love it here, jorgemac!

Honestly I don’t know if it’s regulated or not. The predecessor V9 T6 didn’t seem to be according to a review over on CPF, but that light had a completely different UI, so I don’t know how different the driver might have been.

That said, I haven’t so far noticed any issues or visual dimming due to not being regulated.

got my v9cs today

tailcap readings are 1.6 at 4.15v with a panasonic 2250…1.5 with a regular 18650…2 16340 is 1.1a so 2.2 at the emitter at 8.4v…far cry from the 2.5a claimed from crelant…would make sense though because their lux ratings are complete bs also…still really nice light that is sanely driven…it’s bright and will have good runtime…exactly what I wanted…still 2.5a would have been sane also and it could have always been dimmed…my 0.02$

It does make me wonder how much variance a different DMM’s can introduce though? I’ve got 2 DMM’s, one that I suspect was more pricey and a real cheapo one.

The more pricey one reads slightly higher voltages on cells by 0.2-0.3 difference compared to the cheapy DMM (even when using the same leads).

Sadly the better DMM doesn’t work when taking tailcap readings (something is broken on it). So I don’t know if it would also see an A difference too, but it does make me wonder.

What’s the REAL lux on this?

yeah I have a pretty decent DMM with 14 gauge leads on it…it’ll measure 5+ amps on my Dry and a bang on 2.8a with my nangj V1 and 3a with the nagj v2…therefore I trust what it tells me…if your DMM shows you 2.8 on a nangj v1 then it’s accurate…

What’s the real lux and how does it stack up to the HD2010 or V2?

Afraid I don’t have a lux meter or either of those flashlights (yet  ), I can say it throws quite well, but my XP-E Mag will match it/slightly exceed it, albeit with a narrower beam and less bright spill. And my aspheric Mag easily out throws it.

I do have a Small Sun ZY-T13 that I want to do a proper comparison to.
