The Romisen RC-B3 Q5

Anybody have any experience with the Romisen RC-B3 Q5? Here is the link.

The same light here

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/romisen-rc-b3-cree-p4-led-flashlight-aaa-12065

The first link has the Q5 and the second P4. Now the second light uses the older and weaker P4 and of course cheaper.

Just asking if someone has purchased this light?

I also bought the New Maratac Extreme AAA seen here

The light is nice and well made but not as bright as claimed. I use eneloop with this light but a 10440 is not recommended and their customer email support is a hit or miss and downright just dont answer emails. The light has no specs in regards to voltage etc..I finally did get a reply that the voltage is 3.2v. Been searching ever since for a lifePO4 with charger and did get a response from:

http://www.dhgate.com/ if anybody is looking in that direction for a hard to find lifePO4 battery.

Sorry if I got off base here.

Eric

Hi there Eric, welcome to BLF! Thanks for joining.

I don't have any experience with that model. But in my opinion it doesn't look like a very practical design. It's almost as large if not larger than many AA lights, but doesn't have anywhere near the capacity with the tiny AAA battery.

You might want to look at something like the Trustfire F23 or the ITP A3 EOS.

Thank you kindly sb56637
I have looked at the F23 and the ITP as well.
The only problem is a lot of the finer lights I like have a Twisty operation in my opinion worthless/useless for my needs.
The Romisen I could not compare it’s size and you are probably right in reference to size. I do have the DX Blackcat from “Gemany” but is flawed…Flickers.
I do have these lights on order from DX and they are awaiting for their suppliers afer 2 weeks.

BLF is a excellent site indeed and wonderful people.

Welcome newsanno.

Like sb56637 said, check out the trustfire F23. With 3 modes, mode memory, and a good clicky, it's one of my favorite 1x aaa lights.

Aloha and welcome to BLF newsanno!

I have 2 of the F23's and they are very nice for the price. The Maratac Extreme AAA is on my short list of future buys.

Thank you gentleman for the nice welcome indeed. The F23 is nice and leaning to grab one but wish the strobe feature was not added. Thats why I have a cell phone.

Hi Guys found this little gem that maybe superior to the F23
http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=996

Looks nice too! Just a bit pricier.

Here's another 1xAAA multimode clicky:

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ultrafire-a3-cree-q5-wc-3-mode-130-lumen-white-led-flashlight-with-strap-1-aaa-47702

But like the first one you posted it seems quite long for a 1xAAA light. Nice and slim, though.

Ooops, and here's the F23 at Manafont:

http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/trustfire-xpe-f23-3mode-memory-led-flashlight-1aaa-p-5557

If you like the F23, definitely get it from Manafont, they are infinitely more fast and competant than DX.

Thanks sb,

You are correct about DX being slow, never used manafont. Seems we cant escape that useless strobe. The AAA with a clicky with the desired bright R5 with Hi-Med-lo is pretty much more in line in way a light should be only if the others would substituted a lo instead of the useless strobe. The light with my post w/link is hmm about 1/4 more than my DX Blackcat.

Eric

Nice find...I kinda like it...and I think you're going to fit right in around here. I'd like to see this and the F23 side by side to see if it's worth the extra $6.

Thanks Match,

Trying to order it now but cant seem to get my city to display in the order field. Gonna email them a slap to get this fixed. My previous post I ment to say this light is almost a 1/4 in length longer compared to my DX Blackcrap.

welcome, for the first one, not satisfy with the so short runtime-one hour. the second one,i take it as mine for LED stays attached to the LED body when screw the head off, just two mode switching for the third one.

The Yezl is likely to get very hot - I have the S5 which is basically the R5 version of the F22. IMO the F22 with its XP-E R2 is the better balanced light. But it isn't as bright.

The S7 is essentially an F23 with an R5 in it. The runtime will be short on a 10440 - I get 10-12 minutes on high from the F23, the Yezl is likely to have a shorter runtime. If they've not changed the reflector, then I'd say the F23 is a better bet.

I have RC-B3. Standard Romisen quality, but nothing spacial. A bit pricy compared to recent models of a similar flashlights. Forward clickie is a nice feature. I modded mine with XP-E Q3-5A emitter and 3 mode driver.

I also have the "flickering" black cat. I also have 3 twisty AAAs: Brinyte PD03A, Maratac AAA SS and the ITP A3 EOS.

I would recommend as a 1-mode clicky AAA the Tank007 703 from DX, I have given one away as a present and I miss it.

Bright, good build quality and cheap... overall very good value... I will have access to one of the recent batch in a few days.

Hi guys, Thanks for all the feedback. Don you are probably spot on in reference to the heat generated by the 10440. I like the F23 but that strobe is what I dont want. I will be using the eneloop with me lights.

I will go ahead and order the Yezl S7 and the Tank 703 Vectrex recommended. I used the be in the Big is brighter catagory now as technology has improved we are going for the smallest and brightest with a touch of quality with a budget. Heck, I still have my old 6 D cell Maglight which is excellent for a good wallop.

Gone are the days when I used to impluse buy only to wind up with a piece of rubbish like my DX Blackcrap. Thats why we are here in BLF to help and educate members to avoid those impluse buys by doing a bit of research asking question's and with patience then we decide to pull the trigger and purchase the item and share our experience when a member happens to ask and we have that item.

Thanks for all help guys. Since most people here have the Tank 703 and know it's a good light. I will share my experience with the Yezl S7.

Cheers fellas,

Regards,

Eric

Agreed on the 703. It is a nice and durable little light which has the great advantage for a pocket light of not having a sticking out switch like the F23.

I actually prefer twisties for pocket use though I'm not all that fond of them in the abstract.

i can recommend this http://www.dealextreme.com/p/rmsen-rv-107-cree-q3-wc-110-lumen-led-flashlight-1-aaa-39468

best value for money AAA i have bought good build quality and performance i bought 4 all out perform my fenix L0D

Scruffy dog,

Thanks for that. I somehow missed that one.

Eric
