Here's my new TrustFire X6

Thanks Brad!! The build quality is outstanding!!!

Ok now I want one.

It really looks great. I like the whole look of it.

Very unique and cool as hell.

Here’s a quick picture of the whole light, the top was not showing in the other pictures. It is 14” tall.

Pron! Flashlight pron that is. What a great light. Every owner opinion I remember seeing is about how nice it is build and how well it performs in both flood and throw. Some wanted more throw but that does not stop them saying it is a very good value light. Congratulations to you rikr. I am a little bit green right now ;-) because I've always been partial to that model myself. And now it is outstanding value for money since they have come below 100 $.

I am still on the fence about it though since I would probably mod it and that seems like a lot of money for a mod host. But that is just me...

Here’s a video of it on youtube. The head part is actually a wee bit more massive than the X100.

Tadpole, IMO it was plenty appropriate!

Flashlight porn…Thats picture is!!!

Rey, is the man. Cant say enough about the service and the little extra’s that make a
good vendor a great vendor. Rey is abviously a flashahiolic himslef and packed 2 very large
heavy lights with plenty of care. i know hes tested each one, O-rings, lubricated threads, ultra clean and polished. This is my first purchase and in just an average joe, i wasnt expecting an X6 and DF003 dive light to appear 3 days after placing the order. Again, Rey making sure
the customers happy. Normally i would start with a comment in regards to the pricing and the
were simply too good to pass. I told Rey it was a no brainer, you just have to to but i dont think he understood. At the end of the day its the service that everyone will appreciate. The
fanstastic service and attention to detail is a no brainer…

Slewfish - I haven not. Im still waiting on the delivery. After i ordered i found another driver
with adjustable output via a Pot. I think the 2nd driver will work well with an STT-90 rated at as it is rated at 10amps-14amps max. I’ll update this or start a new thread with the modification. Get one, if you dont like it…I’ll take it off your hands…

btw - I have to thank 2100. And giving us a great referall WWEFANS

I do want mine, but I can decide which driver to use.

+1 Rey is the man!!!

+1 Thanks 2100

Just received mine. Has a few nicks here and there but not too much of a problem. The two words I first said when I opened it was ‘holy crap’. These pictures really don’t do it any justice until you hold it in your hand. This thing is massive. It is a club. It’s daytime right now so I can’t judge it’s abilities yet but I can say for sure that this thing is substantial. If you’re used to 2*18650 lights or smaller this will blow your mindhole.
Also note, this is a soft battery crusher - meaning if you have panasonic NCR18650As it will crush the negative end of the battery. So I’m using my TF flames which don’t get crushed. A bit sad, but I’m not too bummed since it’s the cheapest SST-90 light out there right now.
Shoutout to Rey: I received it quick, thank you.
And also I can’t wait to mod this thing. I’ll order the parts next month after my exams are over.

here already waiting for the big moment. This better be good.

I can say that it has a throw of 49k at 1 meter (slightly higher than stock STL-V2), but when calculated from 10 meters, only has a throw of 45k. VERY UNIMPRESSED. But it has more than 1000 lumens for sure, probably around 1400 going by ceiling bounce tests.
When I mod it to 9 amps, I predict the throw will be around 55k or so, and then I will probably dedome it… or should I do it now…

EDIT: Actually I probably won’t dedome it. I want it to have maximum brightness, even if it means losing out on throw
EDIT2: I have to commend the heatsinking on this light.
Temperatures after 15 minutes on high (6.5A) in celcius, ambient temperature of 18.1 degrees:
Head: 37.3
Main fins: 43.9
Secondary fins: 37.4
Start of battery tube (where I hold it): 36.2
Joint between first and second segment of battery tube: 34.3
Top of battery tube: 33.2

If you want a more ehm, how hall I say this, reversible mod than dedoming that expensive led, buy a XML already on a copper star from either DX or LED-Tech and then just stick it in there with original driver. XML on CU should handle it well.

And if you then want to de-dome that one it's only a fift of the price. You might even sell the original led and recover some of your money.

It is just a thought, my 0,02$ you might say :-)

Ledsmoke that’s actually not a bad idea. I’ll give it a go, that means I’d be running the XML at 6.5 amps… I might have to pot the whole thing though to get proper heat management and doing that kind of makes it permanent…

On another note, where you unscrew the head at the bottom of the battery tube (like the opposite to the tailcap), I sanded it until it the colour came off and… I got an extra 68 lumens and 100 lux out of it… Kind of crazy to think it has that much resistance on the connectors. I will probably try to sand the tailcap spring when I get the time.

The TF X7 is actually a better idea if you are going for the copper MCPCB XM-Ls. It does 4.5A. People have done it also. Same reflector size.

That’s not a bad choice either 2100, thanks for the suggestion. I don’t know when I’ll be able to get around to getting another light though, after I put the 9amp driver in the X6 I’ll be done for a while

sorry to bump an old thread.

I found the TF X6 host is now using XML T6 under Uniquefire brand with a super cheap price.

Actually I only favour the reflector size. any idea if it can be used with a single cell only without mods?

edit: apparently I didn't read the description correctly, the size is much smaller than original TF X6. so might not need the answer anymore. apology for have bumped for nothing.
