My guess is that it won’t be that cheap and above 100 bucks. But it won’t be above 170 shipped because that is where the TK70 comes in. (though the TK70 is much bigger, it has all the flashaholic niceties like no PWM and hidden flashies and 4 levels of illum including 5 lumens, the ramping between the levels and switching on is gradual and not instant like the budgetlights, and of course a nice AR lens….well it’s a Fenix after all).
But yes it does look like HA, so that’s a win already. Not sure if it has AR lens and driver that’s all.
I already have a TK70 and XTAR S1 (and too many multi emitter lights), so this would be a very difficult decision for me!
I’m holding my TK70 right now and comparing the machine work of the light’s head, it is exactly the same. Maybe this is a clone of the upcoming TK75? Or a different light altogether, just using the 70’s head. Whatever it is, if you haven’t actually used the TK70, it’s a real beast, (big 10cm head). Now is the chance to get real combination of flood AND throw for a lot less money, I hope!
Is this a thrower? We have a bunch of good triple floods available. Im interested if someone can actually make a top notch thrower and start sending some lumens down field..
If TK70 is around 100kcd and this has similar head dimensions (+ might be driven harder, hope so), it will throw. Better than my de-domed FF STL-V6, which can be considered as a good thrower.
Just take it that it has a TK70 head with U2 XM-Ls.
Ric just told me that the driver is a DRY driver, the one with the higher PWM (is it 750Hz or 1kHz?).
So definitely if we are basing on TK70 specs, this would definitely be way past 100k cd. (there are other things like lens, reflector quality, heatsinking….but my guess is that it is still very good and won’t affect much)
Internally there would be some minute difference, of course.
