Any single 26650 cell flashlight better than Crelant 7G5-V2

So far I’m going to be buying a Crelant 7G5-V2 soon, but I haven’t been paying a lot of attention to 26650 flashlights and I was wondering if there was any light that could out throw it with a single cell?

I’ll be running the Crelant 7G5-V2 on a single cell as well since I don’t like multi lion lights, but it’s nice to have the option of 2 cells if you need it, and I wont be buying the collimator head.

Selfbuilts pic on the difference between running the Crelant 7G5-V2 on a single 18650 cell vs 2

I really don’t think there is anything that actually trumps the 7G5V2 with one cell, and certainly not 26650. If something did, it still wouldn’t be by much. It kinda sucks to be at the top of the flashlight “food chain,” doesn’t it? lol

Yeah, that’s what I figured but it doesn’t hurt to ask. Guess we’ll have to wait a while to see another predator added to the food chain 8)

The 7G5V2 has around 45k lux with 2* 18650s, and around 40k lux with 1* 18650.

Do you care about hotspot size? If not, the Jacob A60 will use 1* 18650 and give you 55k lux.
IMO, I have the 7g5v2, and I can honestly say that it’s not worth it for the money. You can get a skyray stl-v2 at stock 48k lux 2* 18650, and if you dedome it you can push it to 83k lux.

Since you’re so intent on using single cell lights, I wouldn’t recommend the stl-v2 since it can only use 2 18650s. But if you didn’t mind there’s an upcoming TK70 shorty clone, which has triple emitter (DRY driver) and has a 103mm head. This equates to a drool inducing amount of lux (120k) and lumens (2600). The battery it uses is not confirmed though.

EDIT: a HD2010 will get you the same amount of lux as the 7G5V2 on 2* 18650s. It uses 1* 26650

HD2010 has a little modding potential if you’re willing to swap in a higher bin LED.

Great pics!

They’re from selfbuilt’s (cpf) review.

Sorry to highjack the thread… but Slewfish, if you wouldn’t mind: what is the approx. diameter of the A60 beam verse the 8-12cm at 1m of most good XML throwers?
I have head it said that the A60 still maintains a surprisingly wide beam for a XR-E that throws as well as it does.

My contribution to the thread, if you are after small with good throw: A de-domed XML C8 will throw as well as a Trustfire X9 pushing 2A+ and is very easy to do, simply take the pill out, hook up the battery, let it run until it is basically too hot to hold and then lift the dome (from the side opposite the bond wires) with your fingernail. I have done two so far and both took all of 1 min each.
Probably not too viable for most but it is an option.

I don’t have any measurements and can’t take any since mine is dead due to broken bond wires in the LED, but from memory it’s around 5-7cm at 1.5 meters. Someone else will have to report the correct numbers though, but I remember it being really small.

The HD2010 doesn’t seem to stack up to the Crelant and if I wanted a a tighthotspot the Crelant with the Collimator head would probably be a no contest. Either way not much info for either lights and neither seem to be very high quality or water resistant. I’m sure both are great lights for the price and for the price difference of the Crelant you could probably make it into a much nicer light with some modding.

If you could take some pics of the lights it would be nice since I could’nt find a direct comparison, I did the next best thing and used other lights that were compared against both lights.

The TK70 looks like a nice light, but damn that thing is big :open_mouth:
