Stormtrooper lights - lots 'o pics

Hi folks,

With the recent arrival of several Star Wars-themed lights, I thought it appropriate to add my take on the theme.

Here are some Stormtroopers.

White Cerakoted Solarforce L2T with custom head and black Cerakoted Klingon bezel:

Solarforce L2i body, custom finned head in white Cerakote, coated tailcap:

Custom grooved and Cerakoted Solarforce L2i body, custom white bezel ring:

Solarforce L2X, head and tailcap Cerakoted white:

Custom-grooved Solarforce L2M body, 'smoothie' head, Cerakoted white, bead-blasted stainless bezel ring:

Custom 'smoothie' head and Triad tailcap in white Cerakote, type II smoothie body:

Cerakoted 'smoothie' body, Solarforce L2X head and tail:

Please forgive the point-and-shoot pics, as I no longer own anything else smaller than a 4x5. I hope to replace it with a digital SLR around the holidays.

Thanks for looking !

Totally awesome, C-X!

+1!!!

I like the head finning on the first one and I really dig that last one!

Did you do the ceracoating yourself or did you outsource it?

I am certain that Queen Amidala herself would love those lights ....

I don’t think Natalie ever looked better than she did in that stadium scene.

Sweeeeeet.

The lights look good too.

Thanks, guys.

The Cerakoting was done by Bugsy714 from the other side, machining by yours truly.

I'm looking into local coaters for the new stuff coming up.

Oh wow! Solarforce hosts I’d actually consider owning!

Nice work chi’x

By “other” you mean, dark side, no?

Very cool collection, Chicago. I’m not a fan of regular L2X spikiness but the white-black Stormtrooper aesthetic sure makes it easy to look at.

Interesting, different, unusual. It's what I would expect from the lathemeister.Smile

Wow, good stuff! Looks like you haven't wasted any time playing with the new lathe. Very nice work!

Thanks again for the kind words.

@Match : These were actually made on the old machine, but I just got them back from the coater. I am, however, doing some top-secret work with the new machine on some other Solarforce parts...stay tuned !

I can visualize a New York interior designer modding those lights into lamps for someone’s Manhattan penthouse.

Super work CX. You a bad mother!

how did you cut the nobbly bits on the “German stick bomb” lights? They’re certainly all quite unique!

Hmm, Natalie Portman. Our next child is definitely going to be called Natalie, girl or boy. We already have a Sophie (after Sophia Loren and other gorgeous Sophies) and Isabella (after Isabella Rossalini)

CX, one word for you: AWESOME!

VERY. AWESOME.

You would name a boy ‘Natalie’? That ain’t right man!

Shut yo' mouth !

(I'm talkin' about CX)

Then we can dig it !

If you're referring to the L2X pics, I can't take credit - they come that way.

Thanks again !

goooorgeous work. Very cool concept too. Love the theme  And that cerakoting. Dang, I can’t afford such things right now lol
