4Sevens old logo stock back at Going Gear -50% off

It is just a matter of what you like. It is a nice flashlight either way.

The tactical only allows access to two modes. One mode with head tightened and another mode with head loosened. You have to program the light and you get your choice of all the different modes but you only get two at a time. It makes it a simple and easy to use light.

The nontactical has access to all modes by loosening and tightening the head and soft pushing the switch.

because thats the max voltage, you could buy the single aa body and use a 14500 if you want

The tactical is forward clickie and the regular is reverse clickie.

With the tactical you can use the switch momentarily as fast or slow as you want without the fear of switching modes.

Tactical does not tailstand, regular does.

tactical or regular

So the quark X tactical or the Crelant V21A? The Crelant off SB right now is like $33 shipped - and i really like my 7G5CS.

So many tough decisions!

that’s a nice setup, but the AA body is $20 and shipping is $9 at the only place I found that had one. Ugh! Still, that would be a great EDC.

Well, just wasted $65… Thanks Woody for the link and the coupon code.

I’m not getting excited about the Quark. What makes it so good? How does it compare to a Klarus P2A or Jetbeam BA20?

I don’t have the Jetbeam or Klarus, so I can’t compare fit and finish, build quality. and reliability.

Here are some differences to note:

The Quark is six dollars cheaper in this instance.
The Quark uses the XM-L and the others use the XP-G.
The Quark has a ten year warranty. I don’t know the warranty on the JB and Klarus.

If someone is in the market for this form factor, I think the only downside to the Quark is the tint lottery, although the Quark X 2AA that I gave my dad was a decent cool white.

I have a few of the 2AA 4Sevens lights, some of which I have used pretty hard and have had no problem with them other than having to clean the threads and tighten the nut on the inside of the tailcap. I have now moved on to Li-ion powered lights, so these will probably be beaters that I keep in vehicles.

I have not had to send a 4Sevens light in for warranty but I did have a Eagletac that I bought from Going Gear and a Fenix LD01 that I bought from 4Sevens that had problems. I sent each back to the dealer I purchased them from and recieved them both in less than a week from when I shipped them. It was very impressive service by both GG and 4Sevens.

Sorry, no more shilling.

Thanks Woody

Quark + intellicharger +coupon code = total price of $54.85 shipped

If you consider the;
$6.10 saved from coupon,
$8.05 saved on free shipping for orders over $49 and
$42.05 saved from the discount of the light

That makes it a savings on my instance of $56.20 (50.2%) !!

What a bargain and thans for the linky and coupon code!

Why did I do it? Maelstrom S-12 800 Lumen. I don’t know. I don’t need it. Will I still love it in the morning?

I had the X-10 and was very impressed. I really miss it, sold it to a friend. I am sure you will really like it. The X-10 had some monster throw.

It took all of my willpower not to get the Quark AA 2. I have always wanted this light. I can easily afford it. BUT, I have something like 20 other flashlights! Is this one really any different? I keep going back to the website hoping to see that they are ‘Out of Stock.’ I was even going to order that lil lighter thingy for $23 to get the total over $50 so as to not pay shipping.

Perhaps I no longer have this disease.

I could not resist the temptation of finally buying a 4sevens!!! Even though I just bought a Nitehawk over at sbflashlights. Dang you BLF!!!!!!

Bad Boy!!

Some quick info on the Quark X AA2 Tactical (copied from a pm to kreisler)

My quick 2 cents as an end user for several months.
Pros:

- Multi modes

- Good spacing of modes and is actually useful.

- Goddamn wtf regulation

- Insane high output

- low mode

- Light and pretty slim (not heavy!)

- Perfect beam

- Memory mode for tactical version

  • Forward clicky

Cons:

- NO TAILSTANDING on tactical (Had to buy a normal tailcap for tandstanding $10) (Can be overcome by using a glass or anything as holder)

- Parts to lego WAY OVERPRICED.

- Dont like the mode changing on the tactical version (4 twists to activate modes)

  • Preflash is annoying on moonlight to low mode. SOME models dont have it. (Preflash on mine just stopped yesterday, I think it might be some driver contact or something somewhere because when I first got it, it didnot have preflash, fell down pretty hard and then got the preflash and now its gone and my quark head is feeling slightly smoother….)

Is the beam more/less floody on this than the Xenos E03 (I recall this from somewhere)? That’s already insanely huge spot with the XML; basically unusable outdoors.

Also, one review called the tint green, the other just cool white. Is the tint lottery going on with 4sevens’ or just different people have diff subjective interpretation of color?

I hope I get some green tints. My color blindness makes it ‘neutrally’ so I’ll take’em hehe.

I’m still disconcerted over my experience with 4sevens. They were surprisingly uncooperative and ended up sending me back a light with a horrible green tint. Every time I turn it on, I turn into Tourette’s guy. They should have put more effort into service rather than branding. I think their old site and model names were easier to figure out anyways.

So do all of their lights have tint issues?
