It has been modded to hold 3 XM-L T6 3C leds, with a Frosted TIR Optic. The leds sit on a Copper heat sink, backed up by an Aluminum heat sink. Power is via 3 NANJG 105C drivers in a Master/Slave configuration. The master driver has the E1320 5 mode program on it. The battery holder is a custom made 8AA (4S/2P) holder, with copper contacts and gold plated springs. I measured 8 amps at the tail cap on start up and it leveled down to 7.5 amps after 30 seconds.
I expect the light would only run on high for a few minutes, as the amp draw is fairly severe. (Use Eneloops). Don't use Alkalines or any other battery except NiMHs.
The bezel and tail cap are polished and it has a glass lens over top of the TIR optic.
Remember, this is a "Home Made" light, done with only hand tools. It is not as precise as you might find in a good factory light. It's more of a shelf queen, than a daily driver, but it is unique and I will not make another exactly the same as this light. You cannot remove the head on this light.

Actually, knowing the total of the tail cap amps, 7.75 amps, and some three finger figuring, I would assume about 2300 lumens would be a good estimate, but that could be all smoke too, since I can't test that. When I said about 1600, in the build thread, I didn't do any three finger figuring, so that was a very low estimate.
Assuming 100% efficiency, each LED will get 2.58 amps, but let’s round down to 2.5 amps because the driver probably isn’t 100% efficient (kind of impossible).
At 2.5 amps an XML will produce just over 800 lumens in IDEAL CONDITIONS - meaning adequate heat management. Since this is all in a maglite with what might quite possibly be one of the least surface area lights ever made we can also safely assume that this isn’t ideal for heat management. So let’s drop the lumen output by 50 lumens.
So, 750*3 = 2250 lumens.
This is just an estimation, but it’s safe to assume that it will output over 2100 lumens.
Also Justin, what is the ‘three finger figuring’ method you used?
