Nice! Very nice!

I knew it! I dedomed my T13, resistor mod, and the hotspot became very intense. Much more than I thought. I figured it should be close to 100kcd, but I just thought maybe it was more of a wishful thinking. Don't have any way to estimate it.

Now you show your T08 shot, that looks pretty much exactly like mine. And 110kcd! I knew it! :D

Very cool! Thanks for sharing! That last one redefines "pencil beam"!

Wow, amazing work viffer!

Now I gotta modify a light I haven’t even received yet Heh.

Is there a thread or instructional video for dedoming?

Great Beamshots!!! Thank you!!!

Great work!
Is the big aspheric a of-the-shelf-light or custom/self made? is there already a tread about it I missed?
Is the tint difference of the two A0’s because of different bins or did it really shift that much after the dedoming?
The dedomed one looks so much warmer and nicer!
Wich dedoming method did you use? cutting?

Wow nice numbers! Nice pics! Nice lights! Nice work!

All aphericals are home/self made. A thread exists somewhere about the big one.

Full dedome method, I heating up the led star with current, and remove the dome completely. As I can estimate, the original cool white tint shifts to a little warmer than neutral, somewhere around 3800K.

the stl-v2 clone and the zy-t08 was in the same league before I dedomed the zy-t08, almost identical beam profile, and intensity, and now the difference:

mouseout stl-v2 clone, mouseover dedomed zy-t08

less total brightness output (with about 20% lumen), but much stronger spot

Nice collection of flashlights & good custom modifications! Thank you for great beamshots comparison, very usefull!

Superb beam shots! Nice job, Viffer!

Absolutely amazing how those lights come alive after de-doming. I de-domed my T13 the same way you do yours and output didn't change at all. Still only 39k @ 1m

Well join the club. I still haven’t seen anywhere near double the brightness in any of the lights that I did before I tried to keep making them brighter like some are claiming before I ended up messing up the LED. The guy I talked to recently who makes one of the best LED throwers made said he has tried it and didn’t see much of any advantage whatsoever. He also said he doesn’t recommend it.

nice beamshots! Now I’m really interested in the Ultrafire D1 now.
