Despite where this thread is currently heading to Undecided, it did inspire me to change my avatar Smile

Avatar???Undecided

Oh, the little photo......Tongue Out

Type "old lumens" in a google image search, or "old man", or "candle". I change them whenever the mood strikes, as they have no real meaning to me at all, neither does my screen name. It just sounded good and wasn't taken, so I use it.Wink

Depends on the light… Back then I had maybe 2 XM-Ls, none of which were throwers so I wanted a decent XM-L thrower.

Now there isn’t much that excites me. Sad

Do you have any HID’s in your arsenal?

It’s a Smith & Wesson 4506 firing a .45 ACP in slow motion. It’s one of my favorite handguns of all times so I have no plans on changing it anytime soon.

Are you planning on changing your avatar?

Mine is a photo of an HID in a dark room facing downward on a white surface shining bright.
I chose this avatar as I think it is fitting for the BLF forum and that I additionally love my HID.
I do not foresee changing my avatar anytime soon.

Would like to hear from you all…

Cheers!
Steve

Just changed mine from Evil Otto of the 1980s video game Bizerk to David Mann, the guy who was escaping the charging semi in the 1971 hit movie (you really should see it!), Duel.

I just get tired of them from time to time, and hence, feel the need to change them.

Duel is awesome.

Yep, it's a classic.  I learned today that it was a made-for-TV movie:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067023/

The film wasn't all that offensive, but it was a pretty effective horror flick.  Therefore it might not be suitable for some children, despite being rated PG.

By the way, the rating PG-13 wasn't created until July 1, 1984.  Steven Spielberg (the director of Duel) actually suggested the new rating.

In 1984, I saw Spielberg's Gremlins, along with Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom.  I was pretty young and I hadn't seen many intense films.  Both of those movies were released shortly before PG-13 was created, and they scared the hell out of me (especially Gremlins).

Spielberg once said about PG-13, "I created the problem and I also supplied the solution."  How awesome is that?

I changed my BLF avatar!

It's Nemesis, a rather persistent Biological Organic Weapon from Resident Evil.

av nemesis 85x85 100

Here's a much bigger pic:

av nemesis 1680x945 070

Isn't he handsome?   Wink

I also changed my signature.  It's 7 pics of Alice, this time without a mouseover.  Each pic has one of these aspect ratios:  4:3, 1:1, 3:4, or 9:16.  I spent a long time on the signature.  So far I'm happy with the result.   Smile

I recently received a private message from a friend.   Smile

I'm not going to say who it is.  And I would prefer it if no one guesses who it might be.  People's feelings could get hurt if the guessing were to go awry.  I thought the message was pretty funny and I was not offended, which is why I'm sharing part of it.  Also, I edited it a little.  Here we go:

"Your new avatar sucks.  Why not one of the cute girl pictures.  I think most of us will know you da man, not a girly man."  (and attached were a couple of sexy pics of Milla Jovovich.)

Hilarious!  And my friend was right.  My Nemesis avatar needed to go.  It was tough to see what was going on in my old avatar, and Nemesis is a little too creepy.

My new avatar is not of Milla, though I am a fan.  I already have plenty of Milla pics in my signature.

It's a red and white umbrella, the ubiquitous symbol of the evil Umbrella Corporation.

av umbrella logo 0085x0085

Although it's pretty easy to tell what the avatar is, here's the obligatory larger pic:

av umbrella logo 0700x0700 95

I hope this one doesn't suck as bad as the last one.   Silly
