Hello everybody, I posted a new thread in:

Since the news didnt show up on the front page of budgetlightforum.com i am pointing to it now by the help of this thread (originally titled: DX.com — Great service!! :D)

Please check it out, it's big positive news:

DX is official part of BLF — Welcome!!

(...)

just wanted to chryshill my good experience with them:

the other day i reported how my beloved Romisen RC-29 went bad. after a few months of possession of a budget light most users probably dont bother if the light dies. what can you expect from china made mass produced stuff right? right. however, 15$ is still money and it shouldnt go to waste just like that. i somehow have a high appreciation of the Romisen brand, it's rather a feeling than anything else, and it is founded on the beautiful brand name and the fact that, like Tank007, they are a real manufacturer with a factory site and stuff. quality, website, and reputation is good, etc., i am only missing updated models with the latest CREE led's.

instead of accepting that one of my RC-29's went bad, i contacted DX chat and they suggested me to open a DX case, which i did last Friday. Today is Tuesday morning and my case is already solved: the DX cs rep asked me if i wanted a replacement copy or a store credit. i chose the latter, and they are processing it right now. they said that in ~3 days i should see it in my online account.

That's fantastic service. What a wonderful experience imo! Saved my day :D

Whoever has a similar case (an electronic product turning bad or mal-functioning after months of use), i can only advise/recommend to do the same: not accept the product failure but contact DX cs for some suggestions/help.

DX.com --- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

That’s good to hear. Glad your happy.

As a responsible B2C platform, DX always tries best to provide good products and perfect service for customers.
If you have any problem about your order, you can contact our CS through https://cs.dx.com/ticket/index .
We also have a official discussion page at BLF (http://budgetlightforum.com/forum/marketplace/commercial/dealextreme) where you can share your ideas about DX flashlight and find discount on flashlight quickly.
Pls feel free to check there.

Regardless of the issue. I have not come across online retailers that could not or would not resolve a legitimate complaint. It can sometimes take a while though. Glad you found happiness so quickly.

I gotta admit, DX has actually improved quite a bit in recent times. A year ago I wouldn’t have bothered ordering from them. But then my colleague asked me to order something for him that wasn’t available anywhere else (AFAIK), so I did. It was shipped within 48 hours (surprise, surprise… ) and everything was good. Last month I ordered some stuff from them and it was shipped out within 24 hours - that’s quick.

I just wish they’d have more up-market stuff (mainly flashlights) for sale. I’ve given up on the cheaper flashlights; I’ve bought too many of them :stuck_out_tongue:

Here they are:

THATS what I LOVE about BLF
(a great sense of humour !!)

The trick is off course to find non branded flashlights, that actually are branded flashlights without brand

Unfortunately those lights you discover, sometimes are earlier versions, prototypes or just production failure products.

That is so far my experience with the chinese wholesale shops :expressionless:

Am I wrong?

There are a couple of Bronte lights on DX, which seems to be more of an upscale brand.

Funny, if you look at the endcap of this one, you can see that they assembled it wrong

I just discovered a way to cut down on real frustration searching on DX. If you use the advanced search function, and tick the “In stock” button, your hits are drastically reduced. Not saying they actually have the final list in stock, but beats ordering something that they say isn’t stocked.

Didn't know this! Thanks. That'll weed out a lot of time-wasting choices.

Kreisler, I did have the same good experience with DX

About 1 or 2 years ago, I purchased a TrustFire F20.

In the specifications at DX page, it said that it accepts both AA and 14500… OK

After using it for more than 3 months with AA, I tried a 14500… and guess what: it died.

I contacted DX, and with no worries they sent me a new one for free!!! Even after 3 months after the payment!!! Impressive.

That is very good service!!! Great job from DX!!!

No other seller has this way to keep their customers happy!

I have found that my recent shipments average about 12 business days from ship date to receipt. That is a huge improvement over the last two years or so. DX has significantly improved in many areas for sure… I just wish they can fix the area advising if the item is in stock or not. This would alleviate some frustration and wait times. I should be receiving my long awaited Trustfire Z8 very soon.

Had a problem with an A60 I purchased recently from DX. The reflective coating was flaking off the reflector in more than one place, in a pretty major way, and there were a couple of other issues as well. After providing pictures and a description of the problems, they initially offered me a small store credit. I wasn’t happy with that so I requested that they send me a replacement reflector instead because above all I wanted a flashlight in proper working condition. They agreed to this, but what arrived today was a complete replacement A60 (the whole flashlight) with a reflector in perfect condition. That wasn’t really necessary, but I’m certainly complaining about it.

Excellent after-sales service in this case

(Deleted this from the other thread it got buried in, and reposted here, where I think it’s a better fit.)

You are lucky, I have a couple of orders that has been shipping for more than 40 days and I have not received them yet.

One order that was above two months I did complain about. DX wanted two weeks to check it, that was a bit over two weeks ago and I am still waiting for an answer.

Generally I have very few problems with DX (I have got more than 50 orders), but the last couple of orders has been very slow.

Other than super slow shipping, I don't mind buying from DX every once in a while. When I do buy something I usually just forget about it and items start to arrive at my door around 1.5 months from when I ordered. It's tough beating their cheap prices as long as you don't mind waiting a looooooong time for stuff.

@fishinfool
Be glad you received them at all. Basic shipping method is absolutely unreliable, I’ve never got my last 3 orders, DX resend one of them and still nothing.

PS. I also don’t like their new site, it loads really slowly and jumps up and down while doing it.

Not certain if this helps but I always choose enable bulk rate prices and I pay for the tracking number. I’ve also noticed that items that ship from HK arrive at the Mississaga location, items shipped from China get sent to the Vancouver location which typically add 10 days of waiting time.

Mostly I do very small orders, due to the local customs (Anything above $15 has a $30 custom processing fee).

But one of my missing orders has tracking number, it was shipped 14 September and has not left China yet.
