Looking for a decent charger for the car

I want a fast AA/AAA charger (say 500mA for AAA and 1000mA for AA; only needed in “emergencies”) that I can leave in the car and will withstand 60C-70C degrees in the hot Israeli summer without damage to electronics.
2 battery bays would suffice (I can even manage 1 if absolutely necessary), 4 would be great.
Status indicator (charging/charged/error) is a must, but a more refined charging state indicator (even 3 bars) is preferable.

Anything for less than 15$?

hmmm….

I have 2 of these and I really love them (12,47:money_mouth_face:

Dont know if they will resist 60-70ºC… But I think yes, and they are proven to have very good circuitry

Charges 1xAA or 1xAAA at 850mA per battery…… or 2xAA or 2xAAA at 450mA per battery.

Completely independent channels, temp controlled, DeltaV detection, etc…. very good stuff

Status indicator yes (charging, charged, error) but not a “bar indicator” or “progress indicator”

EDIT: forgot the link… now corrected
EDIT 2: the one in the link is Genuine sanyo….
EDIT 3: you must have a 12v to 5v 1A cigarrette adapter plug…. for obvious reasons

The Duracell CEF23 is another option. They are hard to get in the USA, but I have heard they are more readily available elsewhere.

It has independent channels and has a USB port to charge your cell phone. The price is probably more than you are wanting to spend though.

For around 20 dollars you can get the Intellicharge I4. It will charge both nimhs and lions.

This is what I use and has been permanently in my glovebox for well over a year now. So far the Hawaiian heat hasn't done anything to it and it's also been through 2 summers without fail. I also like it because I can use it to charge my cell phone and ipod. Great all around charger!

The one you linked to fishinfool is the australian version ...For years that as my secret to buying this charger cheaply ...The australian version has at times sold for about 1/4 of what the us versions sold for and a easy to find 12volt wall wart ,a aus to us adapter or a dc 12volt cord in the side powered these up just fine ...oh yeah and they used to come with 4 duraloops too..I bought 3 of them for 12 or 13$ a couple years ago .. great charger

US version

The sysmax intellicharger is probably the best idea .. they are about 20~25$ but charge almost everything ..

you'll still need a dc plug but i'm sure it's a common one ..I had a bunch laying around ..probably like a radar detector cord
