Review / Comparison: P60 Drop-In Round-Up and XM-L Shootout

As always, Foy, that was great. Thanks so much for taking the time.

Wow Foy, what an absolutely wonderful reviews this one is. Love it. Thanks for the hard works!

That Vinz Foy edition P60... whooaaaaa.

Fantastic thread Foy,this is the ultimate reference thread for p60 modules, thanks for taking the time to do it.The vinz module is an incredible piece and I would love one, little pricey but you get what you pay for. This is the go-to thread for noobs and seasoned flashaholics alike.

Very comprehensive Roundup, thanks for that 8)

I love my “Vinz MD26E”.
Mine is driven at 2.8 Amp but still brighter than my Manfont XM-L Drop-In with nearly 3.5 Amp, an indicator for the awesome heat management.
Here’s just a bit eye candy

Most fun read. Well done

Thanks for the P60 information and excellent reviews. I can see some of my P60 UV modules getting some bright light companions.

Can we perhaps get some outdoor shots showing the difference beam pattern, flood, throw between a normal P60 (lets say the Manafont) and the Vinz?

So you run the Vinz without the lens in the head? What about water getting in?

Like Match, I’m not often doing EDC with a P60.

But, P60 lights are still great for the day bag due to their flexibility. LOTs of good backup potential with several different LEDs, lenses, and batteries in the pack.

+2 on all accounts! 8)

Very nice comparison! Where might one purchase that Vinz drop in? Yet again you have me wanting to spend my money!

Foy,

Very nice job!

Another Awesome job Foy!!! Great collection!!!

You guys are too kind. I put off doing it because I actually had something more comprehensive in mind that I wanted to do. The scale of it kept me from doing anything. I finally realized that something like this needs to be an on-going resource where everybody talks about their own experiences, not just me. Especially since Foy is not the genius behind the best of these remarkable modules.

Yes, my indoor shots do none of the better performers any justice. Outdoor beam shots coming.

Your Vinz looks killer in your L2P. Pretty much makes any light look killer.

I need to confirm with Vinz but I'm pretty sure the module itself is completely waterproof. I think all that is needed is an o-ring or gasket between the drop-in and the underside of the lip that the original lens sat on and the light would probably be IPX-7 or better.

Updates on the way . . . right after my Sons of Anarchy fix.

I'll put these above where they belong but I thought I'd show how one of my U2's compares to the MD26.

Vinz MD26E in my old version silver L2.

You can see the SMO delivering more throw against the fence at the end but clearly, one module is brighter than the other.
