Test / Review: EnerPower 14500 840mAh (Yellow)

EnerPower 14500 840mAh (Yellow)

Official specifications:

  • Original Sanyo UR14500P - The best 14500 Li-Ion cell
  • With a PCB of 2A + / - 10%
  • Elevated plus-pole - Button Top

The battery has no problem keeping the capacity, even at 2A trace.

Conclusion

There is not much to say about this battery, with a Sanyo cell inside and a protection at around 3.5A, I will call it a very good battery.

It’s odd how the wrapper states it is an 18650 on the main label but lower down it states made in Germany with Sanyo cell UR14500! I just found that amusing.

Thanks for the review! Looks like a winner!

Yes, EnerPower had a typo on the label.

This makes it the smallest 18650 battery I have tested :

Thanks for the review.

Thanks, HKJ.

Good question, I can see in the Sanyo data sheet that they uses a 16mA termination, this will give a few mAh more.

They do also discharge down to 2.5 volt, but there is only a very small difference between 3 volt and 2.5 volt at low currents.

I do not know if these batteries maybe have some age on them and this has reduced capacity (Even a few month will reduce the capacity).

I do not like batteries, where there is a large difference in capacity, that shows that the manufacturer does not have control with the production.

And with LiIon batteries you do not want batteries from that kind of production line.

On Amazon they are €13.90 each, probably without shipping.

Where can I get the Sanyo cells from?

I want the plain cells

Thanks very much! Frontpage’d and Sticky’d.
